Man..he was the one I was most excited about. His h.s. films are unreal. I was surprised they didn't use him as a grosh. But....best of luck to the kid wherever He's classy, and I hate to lose him....

This year we'll be ok as long as no one gets hurt.
This is Big Boy SEC football.

Somebody is going to get hurt.

We find it incredible that at such a thin team position, LSU didn't sign a single LB this past class........

Chavis'd

What's up with all the down votes? Haters.

We got Chavis'd these last few years. Piss poor recruiting.

You guys are posting as if LSU passed on Young for CG. LSU wanted Young badly as has been said already.

Why does everyone automatically assume Beckwith is gonna go pro? He's a beast, but has a long way to go to be an nfl lb. Very poor in coverage. Bad angles and missed tackles. The kid is still learning the position.

Beck with was pretty consistent in all aspects last year. He doesn't have to go far from where he is to be elite at the college level.

If we wanted Young so badly then why did we wait until a month or two before signing day to offer him? He didn't come because we didn't have any interest until the last minute. Huge miss for the coaching staff.

My roommate worked in recruiting until he graduated last Spring. What's been said is the case, coaching staff went all in for Garrett and ignored Young.

I haven't read a post in this thread and don't feel like reading pages of Rant banter but as soon as I heard this all I could think was just that he doesn't fit.

Andre Anthony and Caleb Roddy look like the kind of OLB/DE they want and not saying a direct switch to a 3-4 is on the cusp, but changes in the scheme appear to be eminent (to me at least) and Garret just doesn't fit what they want to do (without changes) and doesn't appear to have the chest to make it work.

From an ignorant bystander, how close am I?

I love seeing a lot of these posters defending who defend Les Miles to death are calling this kid a "bust" and he just couldn't hack it. Hypocrisy at its finest

Actually Beckwith is a lot closer to NFL ready than you think, plus he has prototypical size and the speed the NFL covets. I remember how Minter exploded from year one starting, to year 2, and I see similar happening for Beckwith. Beckwith was also much more productive in 6 starts (all against power 5 opponents) as a true sophomore than Minter in 11 starts as a redshirt sophomore.

Beckwith is going pro at seasons end because he weighs 250 lbs, can run and will be all SEC as he shoots up the draft boards faster than a gram of heroin going up Keith Richards arse. I'll put money he is a 1st rounder with LSU being forced into a 3-4 next year. It's Steeles plan to move into a 3-4 but I don't know if he is ready to make the jump so soon with our personnel.

and we were 100+ win fine over the last 10 years, but hey, why bring that up right, while you are deeply enthralled in your misery fest. I'd assume you were around 11 or so, if that, when that 10 year run began, so naturally all you look at is the last couple seasons. Typical dumbass kid without a clue...and please don't tell me you are much older...that only makes it worse.

yes because you know, Chavis had that team ready and in position that game.

What about all the other games, and the IMMEDIATE impact he made for the run defense when he took over for Welter? You fail to mention that....in your attempt to negafy (not a word...lol) everything LSU.

What about you saying LSU with Miles would NEVER beat Saban or Meyer again. I remember reading that back in 08 or 09 and almost signed up then so that I could respond. I don't remember much from back then, but that stood out....I remember thinking, what an idiot, and a drama queen.......since that bold prediction, Les is 4-4 against those two. Yet you are knocking others on here. Go figure.
