Look. You guys can all it sunshine pumping all you want. A 5 star guy that couldn't get onto the field at a damn Spring Game after 1 1/2 years on campus looks like a bust to me. That is pretty much the textbook definition of a bust. It looks even worse when your new DC has a long history of running 3-4, and will probably want to implement at least some 3-4 sets this coming season, and LB is one of the thinnest positions on the team right now.

Agreed.

I don't think CG was necessarily over-ranked OR mis-evaluated. Hell, Chavis knows a good LB when he sees one as do the current guys on staff.

After getting whatever star ranking these high school kids get, the work starts then. Having the frame, stars, speed, and level-above is only a starting point for the next level. Especially at a Power-5 school and even more against the ground games in the SEC. If he didn't put in the work all of it will melt away. Appears that's what happened.

Usually a 5* has a helluva work ethic coming in; that's one of the reasons they got a 5th star. There are exceptions. We're seeing one I think.

VERY difficult to be SEC ready as a true freshman. It is the closest thing to playing in the NFL. I think CG will be fine in due time.
