Then you weren't watching. He had major runs against Tulane, Ohio St, as well as KY and others.
Uh, if you are going to take a condescending tone and accuse people of not watching the games, you may want to ensure that your assertions are grounded in fact.
Against Ohio State, Scott had a grand total of 6 yards on two carries. A three yard average. His long was five yards. Are those major runs? What you're trying to remember, and what you're mistaking for good runs, were in fact his receptions on interior slip screens, which I explicitly acknowledged in my original post.
I did overlook Tulane, but how impressed am I supposed to be with good runs against such an inferior opponent?
To be fair to Scott, he also had a 29 TD against Ole Miss.
However, on the season ,Scott basically had one great game against quality opponents (KY).
I hope he is fantastic this season, but KW was more impressive last year.

He also caught a pass for 16 yards. KW caught a pass for -1 yards.

it was a screen pass he had a nice little run on in the title game.

Scott - 7.2 YPC
Williams 6.8 YPC

Tulane and UK might skew those, eh?

You realize that is the most superficial analysis possible, right?
Why don't go look at his game by game performance?

That would require rational thought. That's not allowed on the Rant. So I go by the Sloflo & his toadie Maximus process:
"Which is more?"

dont you like how when every someone talks about richard murphy, they say he's a speedster and faster one out of the three...
Posted on 8/23/08 at 6:51 pm to Future Tiger 13
who ever said he was the fastest out of the three besides some gay kid from Rummel?
Posted on 8/23/08 at 6:53 pm to Maximus
wow dude,your real mature...

future, behave yourself, ok?

Scott is the guy I wanted to start. I have no problem with this. I do want to see KW and Murphy get a lot of carries as well though.

Scott played a lot in the BCS game in passing situations due to pass blocking skills.... I can see why Miles would lean that way with a new QB
Watch at the 24:30 mark for a really nice yet overlooked block by Scott. I like all of our guys. Hard to be mad if Scott is starting.
Scott kills Ohio St Defender

All four backs will see time. KW is not THE back. He's faster than the others, but blocking and catching and toughness and reads off plays and work ethic and evasiveness.......

evasiveness.
do you mean elusiveness?
KW is more elusive than scott or murphy

how many yards do any of the other backs get on Keiland's 2 TDs versus VT or the swing pass vs AU? Not many.
Posted on 8/23/08 at 7:23 pm to Maximus
i can't even guess on the 2nd VT TD for scott and hester...coulda been a loss on both. murph gets 5 yards or so
hester coulda gotten 5 on the AU screen. Scott prolly the same. murph woulda been tackled by the last DB
everyone not named keiland gets tackled by the "hurdled" defender

CramItUgly.. Those were great plays by KW that many, many backs couldn't make. No doubt. The problem are the 200+ inside yards and first downs that Hester got that KW wouldn't. By the way, tell Maximus that Ridley is black. The LSU player info bulletin messed up. But again, Maximus knows everything. So what if he thinks Ridley is white. He still does know LSU football.????
