Just b/c one guy starts doesn't mean anything. It will be the same as last year.

With just a week of practice before the 4 p.m. opener Saturday in Tiger Stadium, it is looking like tailback will be manned by Scott, the Tigers' most powerful runner who is similar to Alley Broussard before the knee injury.
They make this statement, but offer absolutely nothing back it up. There has been nothing to indicate who will be starting RB - last year Keiland ran 1st in all the camps, yet Hester started at played all year at RB. The glimpses the media sees is irrelevant.
I think Miles wants and thinks KW can be the man, but he doesn't like the way he runs...right or wrong. He's trying to 'man him up' and make him into the RB he wants him to be, again right or wrong.

KW wasn't at LSU until 2006.

Hopefully. KW hasn't had a better YPC than Scott in either 2006 or 2007.

i think a lot of people on this board are so accustomed to hester and lsu's lack of a running game prior to him that they've forgotten what a dominant ground game with explosive backs looks like. i think KW and CS remind them this year
a lot of the people here are basically 7 year olds in grown up bodies who think running over someone once a game is the best thing that a RB can possibly do. A 4 yard run where you run over a LB is better than a 25 yard TD.

In that article Miles is quoted on how talented KW is.
KW had 70 carries and a 6.8 ypc
CS had only 45 carries for his 7.2
Why are we arguing over yards per carry when both guy is over 6? Keep them fresh rotate them and keep that ball roll'n.

Hey Maxi, when will you/sloflo be tossing out the "..and Kentucky agrees" bouquet?

where does that say KW played in 2005, tiger tap?

i've never said "and Kentucky agrees" but Miles/Porter did handle the RB situation like complete shite in that game which lead to a loss, no?

Sorry you can't read/comprehend. It'll be alright. I'll break it down for you. It implies KW was at LSU n 2005 running for an injured Joe Addai. Why else is his name in the post?

No I don't agree. I'm sorry did our Defense take a vacation or was Woodson pretty good? Scott had the ball & someone missed their block. Kentucky did not beat LSU in regulation time. LSU moved on after Triple Overtime, Kentucky who had 1 loss when LSU played them - imploded.

quote:Then you weren't watching. He had major runs against Tulane, Ohio St, as well as KY and others. He broke open several games and delivered when he was asked to except for the last play of the KY game and that was because the guard missed his damn block.
Other than one long rumble against Kentucky, I don't recall him making any particularly momentous runs
Scott didn't get on the field that much, but when he did, he usually produced. That's nothing against Williams, I like him too.

One thing missing from all this name calling is that one of the reasons Miles gave last year for JH starting was his protection of an inexperienced QB. And if you look at some of our key plays during 2007, JH kept MF from going down with a killer block. So, here we are in 2008, with an even less experienced QB, and a talented RB (KW) not noted for his blocking prowess. Could it be that Scott starts because they are close in terms of runing ability (even with different styles), but Scott is the more physical, aware blocker back there?

Why was Joe Addai's name in that post? By all means explain.

You & the rest of Sloflo's toadies watch a different game than the rest of us.

Scott played a lot in the BCS game in passing situations due to pass blocking skills.... I can see why Miles would lean that way with a new QB

Good point, and hell I look at this like a Lendale White and Reggie Bush (just talking about styles and the ability to use different backs in different situations for punishing results)
