but I consider the source and am confused. Weren't you predicting 8-4 like two months ago?

Not going back in my post history but I dont believe I predicted that....I might have made this prediction BEFORE it became apparent that BH was going to take over the starting QB role. That would have been a reasonable posit, given the lack of success for AJ and the fact that many (including myself) weren't sure that Miles would make the change.

Well, Jennings was arrested in mid-June, so that would fit. I truly hope that Harris is the difference between 8-4 (your prior prediction) and 11-1 (your current prediction). As much as I stick up for Jennings, I really, really like imagining the heights that Harris can reach in our offense.

It greatly depends on the system. You cannot compare programs with pro style systems against spread programs. The responsibility & knowledge of QB in pro style is greater than those in check with me spread offenses so of course inexperienced quarterbacks would have the ability to be successful earlier in that type of system.

Be very careful in using preseason stats that are being put up against bland defensive game plans. A true comparison of the two will not be able to be made until they both have been up against regular season defenses.

Pssh.. like that's going to happen. You don't spend money on a 2nd overall pick to let him split time with a 6th rounder. Mett's either sitting the bench or trade bait.

Oh I know that. The Mariota pick smells like a front office pick rather than a coaching staff pick. The front office guys being more concerned with putting butts in the seats & hoping Mariota legs can offset their poor offensive line.

This isn't the first time in NFL history this type of selection has been made by a front office & it definitely won't be the last either. I like Mariota's skill set but trail by fire being a day one starter is a mistake here. He's going to struggle when they bullets start flying for real in the regular season & defenses begin disguising their presnap looks. It's the perfect recipe to ruining a young quarterback when bringing him along slowly would probably be better for his long term success.

NFL head coaches don't get paid to lose & don't stick around when doing so either. If Mariota struggles for any extended period of time at any point in the season, he will get benched.

It's not just LSU that hasn't proven they have a QB. shite, Bama may have to start a true freshman, but they're a lock for the playoff.

Bama has a good track record with QB's. LSU has the worst track record by a mile. Someone mentioned Auburn also breaking in a new QB, and again, they have a good track record for developing QB's. LSU is really embarrassing when it comes to developing QB's.

now Bama will likely start a true freshman

Just asking. Where did you read, hear or see that Bama is "likely" to start a true freshman? Haven't heard anything about this and I follow Bama pretty close. He's doing well in camp but I haven't heard he's likely starting.

Depth chart against Wiscy will look this way:

1-Coker
2-Morris
3-Bateman
4-Cornwell
5-Barnett

Well, didn't you call for Harris to start at Aub. last yr. and then, after the outcome, suggest it was dumb to have started the game with Harris but he should have started the 2nd. 1/2?

I hope Harris does a bang up job and never looks back, but expecting like a 3 game win increase just cause we change starters at QB might be placing way to high expectations on a Tr. So. with 1 SEC start to his name,
