@BradEdwards_BCSFor those misquoting, I said Alabama is probably the weakest "resume-wise" of all 1-loss teams to play for BCS title.

Is he saying THIS YEAR....or EVER???
(edit: it sounds like he is saying both, just couldn't believe that someone from the SEC would say that about a team out of the SEC)

p.s. I'm looking forward to playing BAMA, just thought it was an interesting quote

i'd imagine it is all time considering only 1 1-loss team is playing for a title this year

Funny wasn't this the same Edwards who was saying that Bama was the strongest out of the 1-loss teams this year? I could have sworn also that he mentioned a time or two that this could be one of the best Bama teams ever, in his argument for Bama over anyone else vs LSU.

Those that want for us to get beaten will try to inspire Bama by making these comments. They would say, but not in public, "they were just wrong. Bama is great" if we lose.

On my way home from Atlanta, yesterday, I stopped in Tuscaloosa for gas and bought the Tuscaloosa News to get their take on the BCS. There was an interview with Brad Edwards and I was surprised to find out that Edwards graduated from Alabama .....
Is this general knowledge and something I just missed?

I was thinking I was just misreading the quote. Since not, do you all really agree with it?

Is this BAMA teams schedule really the weakest ever in a BCS title game???

He has a point if you simply look at schedule and not style points. Their best win was Arkansas.

they have 3 win against team with records over 500

Auburn
Arkansas
Penn State

Auburn we all know is horrible and they are lucky to be ranked
Penn State is ok and they beat them on the road not bad not bad.
Arkansas is horrible on the road.

the only reason they are in the title is because they lost to us in OT and ESPN kinda wrote them in themselves.

Didn't know that, must of missed it too. Makes his quote all the more astounding coming from a BAMA grad

quote:

Auburn Arkansas Penn State

Penn State ---- really surprised me that they didn't lose more games, didn't see them being that good. But I think what was said about BAMAs schedule could be said about Penn States

He may be right, good thing game's aren't played on resumes. These are clearly the two best teams. Going into November 5th it was the 'Game of the Century' and everybody agreed they were the two best teams and heads and shoulders above the rest. Because LSU kicked an OT fg, suddenly that's no longer true?

It's double talk. As an Alabama alumnus and ESPN employee he is only saying that now that Alabama is in the game. Before the selection, he talked about Alabama being a great team that will breeze into the NC Game.

I believe he's actually afraid that he, along with some ESPN employees, will be indicted on charges of conspiracy to commit fraud.

It is DEFINITELY in the history of the BCS.

Here is what folks like Bama alum Brad Edwards and the rest of the Bama-loving media DID NOT want to talk about until ESPN had ushered Bama into the game:

1) Bama is the SECOND team to make a BCSCG that finished 3rd in their conference (Nebraska did in 2001...thanks to a Bama poster for pointing this out)
2) Bama is the only team to make a BCSCG that defeated only THREE TEAMS WITH A WINNING RECORD (Arky, Auburn, and Ped State)
3) Bama is the only team in the history of the BCS to make the title game by beating only TWO teams ranked in the final top 25

So, yes, Bama's resume is by LEAPS AND BOUNDS the weakest.

Ahh, the life of a media darling.

Penn State ---- really surprised me that they didn't lose more games, didn't see them being that good

They are not. The hardest part of their schedule was the final stretch and they went 1-2 against Neb @home, Ohio St on rd, Wisc on rd. Neb and OSU could be very overrated also.
