I see Miles staying at LSU, retiring, and then taking Lee Corso's spot on ESPN Gameday.

Would be nice. I wanted him to take over when Saban bolted, but he didn't believe he was ready at the time. Not even joking...he told my boss at a party, "I didn't believe I was ready to be the head coach, until I watched Les at LSU..."

He is staying, which means many more Chic-Fil-A bowl appearances for LSU and AP rankings of 12 to 18, if lucky.

If he goes, its for one reason and that's to try to bring UM back to prominence. If UM decides that's the route they want to go, they'll throw the kitchen sink at him, this might be their last chance before its too late, they have to get it right this time.

I'm not convinced LSU can get a "good candidate" because of the fan base.

Miles has turned down Michigan TWICE.

Actually, only once. He was never interviewed or offered the job the second time which is one of the gripes Michigan is having with their crappy AD. He flew down, met Miles and said you're too expensive and then left.

If Harbaugh goes to Michigan, they will win a national championship in the next 4 years. I think he's Pete Carroll/Nick Saban level good at the college level.

i agree, thats why I want him at LSU and let Miles go to Michigan

Being a diehard 49ers, I hope you're wrong. And I'm not sure he's as good as Carroll/Saban.

Yea because our fanbase doesn't attend games, travel well, hates the coaches/players, never donates proper amounts of cash, blah, blah.

You cant just the entire fanbase based on the sheer idiocy you read on this 3-ring circus forum.

Miles is 60, I wouldn't want to hire a coach that old if we need to rebuild. Plus the recruits just aren't there. They are in the south and out west. One thing people over look is stability. You don't have that if you are changing coaches every few years.

So you think 60 is old? I'm sure LM stays in shape, eats what he is supposed to eat, and basically takes care of himself. He is in a great place to take advantage of all of the Nutritional science that is afforded to the players. I think he has a few "milkshakes" a day to help his system along. Now, I am 60, workout 1 - 1.5 hours/day along with running. I feel no older than 35-40. I have been extremely fortunate that my "gene pool" is pretty good. I know guys that are younger than I and look 20 years older. Geez, I am blessed. Where am I going with this? LM is still a "young" man and has many years left "on the job"....
