You can add in So. Cal and Michigan. 4 "name" football programs with lots of money who couldn't get guys they wanted.

This idea that LSU can get whoever they want, any time they want is delusional.

Any coaching search is a crap shot and any "LSU fan" wishing that on us when Miles has been remarkable in his success is suspect.

Harbaugh ain't leaving the NFL. Even if he leaves SF, some other NFL team will snatch him out of his shoes. That is a pipe dream. I think the list of potential Miles replacements is as follows (in no particular order):

(1) Leach;
(2) Kingsbury;
(3) Del Rio;
(4) Rich Rod;
(5) Gundy;
(6) Dabo;
(7) Kirby Smart;
(8) David Shaw.

Harbaugh to Cowboys or another NFL team as Garrett may have saved his job.

And you don't even have my #1 replacement for Miles if he left - Cameron. I am not really thrilled about any of those names except Del Rio and I doubt he comes.

Why would Fisher leave the ACC, where it will always be easier to get a team in the playoff than the SEC?

Jimbo is a pipe dream too.

I Don't think Miles can even live in cold weather anymore. Even if he does, trading him for Harbaugh is not a bad deal.

This is what I was thinking but after he wins another ship here, I don't think Les will go anywhere until he feels he has taken LSU to another level and he hasn't done that yet. We do need done new assistants on D that can recruit and coach but mainly coach their butt off. You can have a good Dline with 3 star guys if they are the right guys and you can actually coach em up. Look at Missouri

So much fail in this thread when it comes to a potential Miles replacement.

Leach? Good God people! He's a great media personality and a gimmicky coach.

Anyway, here are two legit names who would make loads of sense:

J.L. Mora
Gary Patterson

Also, there's a better chance Jim Harbaugh would end up at LSU if Miles when to Michigan than Harbaugh actually going to Michigan. He is a mercenary from a coaching family; if he leaves the NFL, he will go to the best possible college situation where he can win.

No saban leftover please. LSU deserve a HC with NFL experience or at least HC experience at a high level.

I lived in JAX when Weaver hired Del Rio. He's too reserved, dull. Never led a major college program so we don't know if he can recruit.
Pass. Don't even think about it.

Some of our clown fans think they can act like spoiled, entitled tools without it costing LSU anything. They can’t, but they are too stupid to understand that fact.

You really think the LSU fans will incur some cost for their behavior? Let’s see, the Michigan fans are booing too, one of the greatest and long-traditioned programs in college history. I guess they too are clowns? Florida fans boo too, such clowns.

Miles inherited a program rich in its own tradition, with a plate full of great potential NFL players, and a fan base and stadium atmosphere second to none.

Miles is not so stupid to think he will have anything better than he has it now. Sure, he’s gonna jump to a program in disarray and leave the south where all the great talent sits? Sure, Miles will leave a state in which there is NO competition from a D1 college for HS talent?

Miles has made some dumb game decisions, but he’s smart enough to know, it don’t get better than this, the LSU program.

If this season plays out like many prognosticators are now predicting (one more win maybe), then I think this whole topic looks very different in December...for a number of reasons.

I swear bro we laugh about it all the time! Jimbo used to live down the street from my boss at UClub. They had a going-away party for Jimbo. That's when he told them some quirky things about Les.

Jimbo also said the only place he would leave FSU for is to come back to LSU. He and his wife still have an apt/condo in BR.

I personally hope we go and get Jimbo to be HC, and rehire Muschamp as D-coordinator. All the best of the Saban era, without Saban...

Fisher is not a pipe dream at all....the man is still extremely close to many LSU peeps. Shoot, his sons doctor is still in BR. This is the only job many from LSU and FSU believe he would leave the Seminoles for. Sure he can win in the ACC... But the man had 13 years coaching in the SEC before heading to FSU. He knows he could win games at LSU, as he did it many times in the past. We shall see what happens....

Fwiw I used to workout with a QB coach who knew Fisher really well. One reason Fisher left was because Miles would try to take over the offense at key moments during games/the season. They apparently used to get in shouting matches over it.

I don't want Miles to leave, but if he did Jimbo would be my first call as AD just to see. I would call Jimbo if Miles gave any indication that he was leaving just to gauge interest. I think he is one of the best coaches in college right now.

Yeah, entitled, spoiled clowns in the stands pissed off that a 19 year old QB is struggling fifteen minutes into a rent a win game.

a more successful coach wouldn't be making these bone headed moves

Yeah, letting a LSU punt returner fumble a game away at Georgia and letting a LSU QB throw three first half intercepts at Old Miss to lose another game.

Go troll somewhere else. We all full up here.
