I think Brown will see some time at 1B, too. Bear and Travinski are awkward defenders. I think Frey is a good athlete but that doesn't always translate to infield. Brown can play there fluidly.

What will Guidry’s role be this year?

I just talked to him earlier today.

FWIW I saw Brown this fall and thought he was one of the better freshmen I saw this fall. He looks fantastic, granted it was a one-day snapshot at the Fall World Series.

Pitcher's mound.

Guidry will be primarily a pitcher
If he returns for his jr year the infield will likely be wide open as White and Braswell will likely go pro and Pearson could as well.
Guidry is a draft eligible soph but if he wants to play the infield next year would be the year to have a legitimate shot at doing that especially if he can go get a summer's worth of getting at bats.

I still feel like Brown will have an impact on the mound. Maybe not a major role this season, but in the future for sure. He is too good of a pitcher not too and his frame is bigger than Guidry to be able to handle the workload. I also still feel like Frey is very much in the mix to try and win a spot. As we all know that follow baseball enough, what looks like a good lineup/rotation could change pretty quickly once the season starts. Will be really fun to see the different lineup options and more the options on the mound. Multiple pitchers can be counted on in multiple roles with a lot of depth. Something LSU was missing the last few years. (Not so much last year obviously, years prior)

CJJ said earlier that Holman was the bama pitcher who scared him the most. If this rotation holds up, not sure what Sully has back, he's usually loaded as well, but this Fri nite, Sat. 2nd gamer will be hard to beat. Would be nice to go into every weekend series hypothetically up 2- zip. With a quality pitcher taking the mound Sun. & Gavin waiting out in the bullpen ( the same old bullpen apparently ).

Fla has Jac back but lost Sproat and Waldrep
Their ace closer is back so I don't know if Fla is gonna try and use him as a starter or not
I don't recall Fla getting any big time starters from the portal

They also return Neely, Slater, and Cade Fisher, add a transfer from UCLA, and signed a few big recruits. They will have plenty of pitching.

I forgot the kids name but D1 guys was talking about a freshman on a recent podcast that basically took a rotation spot from what it looked like in the fall. I'm sure Kendall can give the name if he comes back to read these comments. They were talking how the rotation might be good enough to be able to keep Neely as a closer instead of trying to make him a starter like they were thinking of doing.

Arky has a top shelf rotation as well. Smith Tygart and the TTech transfer plus a few legit HS arms from their ridiculous class.

For comparison IMO:
Smith = Hurd (pure stuff, big game exp, draft projection)
Tygart = Jump (injury hedge)
Molina = Holman (mix + vet)

Yep, that's the one. Also mentioned I think Cade Fisher in the rotation. Those 2 with Cags and keeping Neely in the bullpen.

Kendall is really good at what he does. Doesn’t seem to have a bias at all. Tells it like it is.

Except when he is accusing Jay of tampering with a player from Stanford that his team ended up signing.

The tampering accusation was about Hurston Waldrep.
