What did Harvard offer? admission and grants?

Last I heard ivy league schools don't offer athletic scholarships.

Maryland offered him shortly before LSU did.

yeah, but UMD is not the home state school. They can easily skirt around the late offer...new staff, not local...

What is considered a good academic program is a bit misleading. LSU is a solid university but you wouldn't know if from listening to y'all.

You know to be honest I never have understood the whole LSU is lacking or not up to par even with other SEC schools. Is LSU not highly rated as for as putting out doctors whether it is medical, veterinarian or dental? Also a pretty good law school to go along with every other degree it has to offer. Maybe it is just me, not sure

Exactly. I knew the Harvard thing would come up but this plays a big deal. From everything I've heard, it seeme ivy league can't offer full sports scholarships.

What the hell does the "U" in "LSU" stand for then?

I'm biased, but UVA's campus is second to none.

It's not that LSU is bad academically, it's just some places are better and may offer different majors that LSU doesn't.

All I'm saying is keep an open mind, some of these guys do realize there is life after football.

You might want to go for 3 because that statement makes zero sense!

I believe you took that a little out of context.

But the poster just crapped on his own degrees essentially saying that LSU was basically just a football school. While I agree that a degree from Maryland may be more prestigious, LSU is much more than a football school.

And there it is.

I was just about to try and research that myself for sake of argument. Thanks for that. I realize a lot of people here are homers and don't see past LSU but it's just reality.

BTW, I really hope Scott is part of this class. I think he would be a solid guy to have after 2 more years of Harris or possibly sooner.

Like I said, I believe his statement wasn't meant to be taken how you took it. I completely understand what you're saying though.
