Yes we did offer. His high school coached was asked if he was an LSU fan and has dreamed about playing at LSU and he said not really. Academics will come first for Scott.

Appreciate that. I thought we did, just couldn't remember.

That's what I was talking about though. Some fans of LSU can't grasp why a local kid wouldn't want to play here but that's more our dreams, not all of these players feel the same. Although, I'll acknowledge a lot of them do have that dream, just not all. Especially when you have some of the offers from elite academic schools like Scott does.

How much do you know about Maryland's academics to make a statement like that?

Exactly, I'm getting down votes for saying the kid probably wants a better academic opportunity, heck, even more playing time than what LSU has to offer at this time. Not that I care, but how do you down vote the truth?

Overall, UMD is a much better school than LSU.

Much better? Nah
Certain programs a little better?

Ok

Only way LSU doesn't beat Maryland for Scott is that he's pissed about LSU slow playing him or he thinks he won't get on the field.

If you think Maryland takes him over LSU because of academics you're a moron.

Maryland offered him shortly before LSU did.

Exactly if he doesn't pick LSU I wouldn't think it's because he felt slighted.

Well, I don't think that, which is why I didn't say it.

What I did say is that generally speaking, UMD is a much better school than LSU. I stand by that. Obviously some LSU programs are far superior to the equivalent at UMD, but taken in total, UMD is a much better school with a better reputation.

Another thing bc I can't remember and just curious, did LSU extend an offer to him? I can't remember for shite.

Yeah, pretty recently. From what the coach said, Cam had been in contact with him for a while, checking in on his progress, but said there wasn't an offer yet because they only wanted 1 QB for this class, and that was Franks for a while.

What is considered a good academic program is a bit misleading. LSU is a solid university but you wouldn't know if from listening to y'all.

Ratings of colleges doesn't actually mean a lower ranked school doesn't do a better job of teaching than one that has a supposedly higher rating.

A lot of factors play into it. Things like graduation rate etc. So if you have high entrance standards less kids will flunk out. But that doesn't mean the university program is go or bad but it really affects the ranking.

If he commits to Maryland Cam Cameron needs to be fired on the spot. Horrible recruiter.

If it's really about education I think he'd go to Harvard. They did offer...

Here is what I know, academically Maryland is a better more marketable degree, and the campus is second only to UVA.

I have two degrees from LSU, LSU is a football school Maryland is a university.

ETA: I really hope Scott comes to LSU, I went to the title game to see the Ehret kids on D but Scott is a QB, not a gamer, I believe he can play QB in the SEC.
