Why haven't Reed, Allen, Vinson and Fobbs committed yet?

I'll take "because it's May" for 200 Alex.

Do you like Mack Brown's style of recruiting? Fill up the 90% of the class by April and wait on the lagniappe players.

There's a reason most coaches don't do that. Commitments put targets on the back of every single one of your recruits. Just ask Pete Carrol.

I'm not saying this is the case, but it's a very likely scenario.

But for shits and giggles, I'll answer your question,

Reed - He's a superstar with weak ties to Louisiana. LSU has been shoved down his throat by his HS coaches. He wants to play the field and see what's out there.

Allen - Like Mingo, he wants to take his visits and get the royal treatment at every school he goes to. He knows he's good enough for the LSU coaches to hold his spot and he's not worried about his situation.

Vinson - Possibly looking around at academics. To go from Newman to LSU is an academic step down. LSU has great depth at Safety and he doesn't want to burn bridges in case he changes his mind.

Fobbs - He probably realizes that there's a good chance of him never seeing the field at LSU. Even players that "love" competition cringe when they look at our DB/WR depth chart.

I'm not saying these are the reasons, just possible scenarios. Scenarios, which, IMO, are much more likely than them thinking that all of the OOS recruits are going to drive LSU into the ground.

Offering a kid a "ship" in California in hopes of getting another kid in California who might not be any better than a kid 45 minutes away will do that...

Of course that doesn't bother you or most here!...It pisses the hell out me though...

What LA QB do you think could be better than Scroggins?

Your use of the word might as a total disclaimer is pretty weak.

Why is it weak?...Don't all these kids have to play their senior seasons or are all OOS kids exempt...

cajun, here is the problem with much of what you are saying. i don't think it is a stretch to assume that the coaching staff has seen more film and has more information than most of us ace rivals recruiters. Also realize that most, but not all, LA kids are going to be more inclined to end up at LSU if offered. if there is a kid that is questionable, the staff can more easily slow play in state kids until they can more properly evaluate the borderline kids. Remember that we have an entirely new defensive staff that is not going to be as familiar with the LA kids as the previous staff.

so while you slow play an in state quesitonable kid, you can offer an out of state player that you are sold on. please don't bring rankings into this, i guarantee you that the staff has more info on the prospects they have offered than rivals or scouts does.

You are an idiot for thinking you know who LSU has offered and not offered. You know nothing and you are desperate to prove it.

No one understands the "slow play" system better than me-it's my freakin point!

Let me ask you this..Why is LSU sold on Storm Johnson from Georgia and not Alfred Blue from Louisiana?...

Same damn RB...In fact I'd take Blue first...

Alfred Blue

Are you saying that Miles didn't offer you? I would understand the hostility in that case.

No, they really aren't. I don't know if you missed it, but Blue is an inch taller (not a good thing for RB's) and 15 pounds lighter. Johnson also posts a great shuttle time for a guy his size and some very impressive squat/bench stats.

I would argue with you about their video as well, but it's obvious it would not do any good.

What does speak for itself is the offer list.

Storm's top 3 - LSU, UF and OU (all three have played in the BCSNCG in the past two years)

Blue's top 3 - Arkansas, Ole Miss, Tulsa/Colorado/A&M

You are so delusional it hurts. Do you really believe all of the garbage you are posting or is this just to get a rise out of everyone?

Please, just explain why you are so hell bent on taking all LA guys?

Sorry for playing the echo, my post took a lot longer to write than the other guy's posts. I do find our harmonious response quite indicative of his terrible logic.

Yeah, good point, Flask...

Storm an "inch" shorter and has better offers for right now...We better get him..

Lets forget the fact that Hahnville High School over here puts out some monsters and those kids produce at the higest levels....

Miami loves LaRon Byrd...
Ole Miss loves Kentrell Lockett..
West Virginia loved Darius Reynaud..

You may remember this Hahnville High School product, I dunno, you pretty young....

If LSU wants him, they will have him. He has already said lots of teams have offered him, but he is waiting for an LSU offer.

That one inch can seriously change a player's center of gravity and will definitely effect his ability to pile on the muscle. the difference between 6'1" and 6'2" is a lot different that 5'10 and 5'11" when you are talking about running backs.

Also, a players offer list is a great indication of his talent level. If he has been offered by multiple top notch programs, that have the pick of the litter, it is obvious that he must be the cream of the crop.

I don't know why I am explaining this, you never let facts or conventional wisdom get in your way.

You say it like Hahnville players are genetically related. Hahnville has a great football program and has put out some great athletes, yes. That does not mean that every athlete they put out will be great. Why don't you make a list of all of the players that played for Hahnville and didn't make an impact at the college level?
