These Guys

I'm on the SAPPHIRE 100352-3L Radeon HD 7950 3GB 384-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card

This is my first time using overdrive.. is 970 for GPU Clock and 1280 for memory ok?

I also boosted fan control to 60% and power control to 5%

---

One last question, has anyone had any experience with the 13.8 beta drivers? The "most stable" drivers seems to be having a few issues in xiv for me

Wy not just get new psu cables? I know you can buy new ones.

I don't use that PSU anymore, but it's semi-modular, so I would've had to dye the 24pin and 8 pin anyway.

With my seasonic, I'm probably going to individually sleeve them once I do my ultimate build (far away dream right now).

When I oc'ed I didn't use overdrive, I used msi afterburner. I would raise the power limit to 20% (usually the max), enable automatic fan control so it blows harder as it gets hotter, and add +50 to your gpu clock. Then run through benchmarks, stress test, whatever. When you feel good with that I would add 50 more and so on until it won't take it. Then do the same for memory clock. If you get to the point where it won't take 50, try 25 or smaller increments. Watch the tests to make sure you don't see artifacts, it won't always bsod.

Preparing for IB-E.. I was always sold on a MSI mobo. MSI has my favorite BIOS and TBH, think they make the best Intel boards.

Now EVGA has thrown a monkey wrench into the thing. The new EVGA Dark x79 motherboard that was refreshed just for IB-E. (FYI, the same MOBO K|NGP|N uses)

MSI GD45 X79

EVGA Dark X79

Okay, many would say if you have the extra 150 to spend on a MOBO go ahead with the EVGA Dark. The problem is, scared as shtt about their BIOS and possible bugs with this MOBO.

So what do you guys think?

1. Go for the fences with the EVGA Dark?
2. Protect the plate and just get on base with MSI?

Well I love the analogy. I'm guessing you are getting at launch and don't have time to read reviews?

Well the EVGA Dark just started shipping, KINGPIN has been using a version since February (first seen benching Titans before launch). So the reviews out there are very limited, plus everyone is waiting to purchase with an IB-E.. I want to purchase IB-E and have the board waiting to install. These decisions in my life.... ahhhhh, so tough.

Also is anyone interested in a 2013 Razer Blackwidow keyboard? I have the box and all original packaging. The hardware works like new and was kept up (no food and didn't watch porn while using the keyboard).

Before I put it on eBay, want to see if anyone here is interested. I'm thinking $70 shipped.. make me an offer on Steam - LSU Coyote.

You can preorder batman origins for $37.50 with the code in my link. I'm thinking of doing it because I should be done with arkham city by then. I just defeated penguin. I'm just not sure i won't be caught up in gtav then or not.

Thanks man. That is my most anticipated game of the season.

Thoughts on AC so far? I know I enjoyed that crap our of it. I have a dumbass suggestion, I suggest for you to purchase a nVidia GPU(2x760) for PhysX JUST FOR playing through Origins.

Love AC, which is why I may preorder origins. I actually thought about getting a 760 but its not the right move for me right now.

I am speaking with a Zotac rep Tuesday about pricing...just saying.

I was looking at the 770 AMP edition or if I should spend $100 more for the 780.

Don't pay the premium for the AMP edition. Yeah it has a custom PCB and you should theoretically be able to achieve higher clocks but what you are buying really is just a factory OC. The kepler chips have about 50-70 left to go on the core while on air. (then again, your boost will downclock most likely.. restricting your card anyway)

You know what I say, buy the 780 3GB reference model. That fricking GK110-300 chip has about 250-300 left to go on air with the allowable voltage restriction.

Yea I read that about the AMP edition which is why I was also looking at the 4GB 770 model for the same price. It all depends on what he tells me Tuesday.

How is that Dark board compared to the rest of the EVGA x79 boards? I've heard that the other EVGA boards are complete crap (They had sales on them for $79, $99, and $119 in February on newegg)

I loved the bios on my Gigabyte UP4 board, got my 3820 to 4.625. Linus has a video about the G1.assassin2 board and raved about it

Yeah. Dyed cables and tubing, and a few dremel cuts to make room for the bottom radiator.

I'm reluctant these days to use any motherboard that's not made by MSI, Asrock, ASUS, or Gigabyte. Might be close-minded of me, but they've been in the game for a long time and are generally the top tier brands.

Do you know of any videos that offer a decent comparison of actual gameplay with and without physx? As far as I can tell, it only seems to add more debris to the environment. Just something nVidia paid a few developers to code in. It comes across as a gimmick rivaling AMD's 5GHz 9590.
