painted the bezel white. Got tired of the plain black with that ugly chrome corner.

what it looked like before:

Looks good! Question, what determines a good Mobo? Like what do I need to look for if I ever want to upgrade?

A lot of things, but it also depends on your definition of "good."

There are motherboards with better overclocking capabilities, wifi, more SATA ports, more PCI-e slots, etc. There's no reason to upgrade your motherboard unless you're also upgrading your CPU, adding another video card, and high-performance cooling for a bigger overclock.

And that case looks nice, but I'd only buy it if you just really like the look. It's oversized for basic setups.

Nice job with it. What kind of paint did you use?

Good stuff. Now it's time to paint your PSU, and your motherboard.

That's awesome

Getting a new mobo this week and its all black so I won't be painting it. The case I'm getting from Diz is all white so I'm goi g to leave the PSU black for contrast. I wish it was modular so I could sleeve it but oh we'll.

Wait didn't you due your cables? If so, how did you do it?

That motherboard isn't mine, just got it from some other forum. It seems like a bad idea

But yes, I had a PSU that was orange and used ugly multi-colored sleeves. I decided to paint and dye everything. I used rit dye, which you can get at walmart where the laundry detergent is.

Here are the pics from the dye portion of the mod job I did last year.

The water has to be really hot for the rit dye to be most effective, so I went to the dollar store in search of marbles to line the bottom of the pot (preventing the cables from touching the bottom and getting too hot/melting). Found these decorative gems instead, which did the job just fine.

They needed to sit overnight in the pot with the heat off, and that allowed the dye to fully penetrate. I did the same with the other cables.

PSU balancing act, courtesy of pop tarts. It looks way more unstable than it actually was.

Drying out.

Put my durelene tubing in the dye as well. Now my brand of choice.

Then painted orange PSU.

I know most people open the PSU and desolder the connections in order to paint the metal safely, but I decided I could be careful enough with the taping method since I didn't have to paint everything (such as the fan grill).

Rustoleum primer and high heat black paint, 2000 grit sanding, then polishing compound. Came out ok I think.

After all was said and done....

I remember seeing that a while back, it was one of the cooler build logs. Wy not just get new psu cables? I know you can buy new ones.

So I'm in Catalyst.. and it says my high performance memory clock is 1280..? But online some places are saying to up it to 5,000?!?! I'm slightly confused, also, I'm going to clock my GPU to 950, hopefully it's ok there.
