Concerning that extra modem idea for the other side of the house. I did that for a while after we moved because my old modem was still activated(I bought a Motorola sb6121 from staples)and plugged my Xbox to it. It worked for about a month till charter shut it down. They insisted on me paying for 2 lines of Internet if I wanted to continue doing that. I said frick that and got a friend that works for a telecom company to cut me a piece of cat6 that is around 100 feet long ( for free)and ran it under the house.

I don't think that guy on the ot with a virus filled overclocked water cooling system has any idea what the frick he is doing.

Yea I have been looking at stuff all over and thinking about it. I am waiting to see what Zotac tells me Tuesday then from there I need to find a source for motherboards. I have no problems getting cheap ram and some cheap flashy cases from Alibaba. I think the rest is easy to find as there are plenty of distributors for HDDs and such.

Oh, well it's been pretty controlled. The "help" posts don't drag on for pages and pages with stupid comments like "get a mac." And we've always asked the "new build" people to start their own thread. But for those of us who regularly post in this thread and already have builds, there's no point in starting a new thread just to ask about buying one or two parts for an upgrade.
I think the biggest fear was that this thread would be taken over by non-GB regulars who just pop in for basic, tedious tech support.
