Posted on 8/18/13 at 2:23 pm to Mr Gardoki

I run 3dmark11 and heaven mostly. If I want to really test it then I throw a bunch of other stuff at it. Just look for artifacts and bsod basically.

801 is definitions
802 is word/critical thinking problems. probably some sim but im not sure. it will be the same format as 801 though, computer based multiple choice.

That's what I wasn't sure of, I didn't know if they had a traditional practical where you physical perform certain actions.

I just clocked my GPU at 1,000 MHz.. is that overdoing it?
(it's max is 1,200)
It's core clock is: 850MHz
Boost Clock is: 925MHz
---
wonder if I'm overdoing it

Is it 950 stock? Either way my 7870 runs at 1050 and I was able to oc it to 1150.

I think it was 925 "stock" .. but I think it was running at the "boost clock" whatever that means

Do you have a boost edition?

i have that exact card. mines running at 1050 without any power change. if you get a good one it will OC like a champ.
Posted on 8/18/13 at 2:43 pm to jcole4lsu
Does the boost have to be activated or is it an automatic oc? I have a ghz edition which is automatic.

I just ran 3Dmark - with Pain and Gain running on a Plex server, while running the Tomb Raider benchmark.. and me being in game, shooting a lot of fire arrows.. no problems

What should I clock the memory at? It's currently at 1250MHz

If you have a 7950, You shouldn't have much problems running at 1100/1500 at stock voltages

That's generally a good idea to do even with mild overclocks. Keeps things stable and doesn't add much heat, if any. Not sure if it's a big problem now, but back in the day with 5000-6000 series, there were cards that were slightly unstable even at stock unless you moved the power slider to 20%.
