Quick question. By looking around AMD seems to be cheaper than Intel for processors. What's the difference here? Is Intel worth the extra cash?

For gaming IPC > Core Count. As of now, anything over 4cores is a waste.

Go Intel unless you are under a very rigid budget.

Yes, it is, because as Coyote said it's rare to find a game using more than 4 CPU cores in any meaningful way, and a Haswell's performance per core is a good bit better than something like an 8320/8350. The cost difference is not as big as you may think, especially if overclocking is not a big concern on an Intel setup. You'll still get better gaming performance at stock clocks using something like the i5-4460 (~$175) on a no-frills non-overclocking ~$70 motherboard. Compare that to the $130 8320 or $160 8350, which you'd need to pair with a $100-ish 990FX board if you want to overclock to match the per-core performance of a stock i5. Even then there's no guarantee you'd be able to push an 8350 to the 4.8 GHz or so it would need to keep up.

This is purely for the gaming use case, though. If video editing, streaming your gameplay on twitch, or some other core-hungry rendering/encoding tasks are going to be a significant portion of your intended use, you will get more bang for buck from an 8320/8350.

It appears that AMD Radeon R9 Fury X is suffering from a couple of noise issues as users have been reporting both coil whine as well as issues with loud AiO pump.

While these could be limited to certain samples, it appears that Radeon R9 Fury X, which is only available in its reference design form, is suffering from both coil whine as well as loud noise coming from the pump of the integrated All-in-One (AiO) liquid cooling system.

Believe they are fixing it on the next batch out. PC Per mentioned this issue on last week's podcast.

Well it's going, but my Korean 1440p monitor just stays black, I hear the detection sound when I connect it but stays black.

Using the adapter from monoprice. Not OCed.

Just tried Monitor Guru and underclocked to 50Hz still nothing, detecting monitor fine.

It won't work with an adapter, period.

Only daul DVI on Koreans. Wait until your new monitor arrives?
