This panel is phenomenal, reviews are definitely accurate on how great it is even for a TN. Coming from the Korean 1440p S-IPS it's a step up in every way. I am amazed, this thing is a steal at $399 refurb from Acer for what you get.

I will, wanted to give the Fury X a few days to break in before pushing it much and monitor temps. Still hasn't hit over 53C.

Alright, I'm gonna benchmark the current setup on 8.1.

And then I'm gonna bench it on yesterdays latest Win10 preview.

Should be a fun comparison, I believe DX12 is supposed to give a decent boost to the AMD CPU's as well.

quote:

Today I’m pleased to welcome the 3DMark® API Overhead Feature Test to the world! This powerful extension to the 3DMark® suite lets everyday users compare the performance of different graphics APIs—Mantle, DirectX® 12 and DirectX® 11—on their PC. The early results are very promising for AMD customers, as the promised performance benefits of DirectX® 12 on full display.

First we’ll look at DirectX® 12’s raw ability to ramp GPU throughput, with higher throughput representing new opportunities to put image quality on screen for you. In the new 3DMark® test, DirectX® 12 delivers performance that’s 10-16X its predecessor on AMD Radeon™ R9 and R7 graphics hardware.

Next I wanted to show you what DirectX® 12 can do for the performance-per-watt of a PC. Using an AMD A-Series APU, the world’s best SoC for DirectX® 12, we see a performance per watt improvement of 511%. In other words, every watt of power consumption just accomplished 6X the work that it could under DirectX® 11.

We shall see what I get. Stock Fury X with the 8320 @ 4.3 under water.

ETA: Or not, update is too new and no support yet for Fury X so couldn't run anything on Win10. Fail.

Time to overclock, once afterburner unlocks voltages for it and whatnot (if they haven't already). Graphics score is almost where one of my max OC'd 980s hits. 15000 at stock I think, so not bad at all.

Yeah, don't believe they have yet. Could OC from 1050 stock to 1075 or so and get a few hundred more but I'll wait for it to get unlocked and a driver update for the Fury's for another nice boost.

So happy with this card. And FreeSync is flawless too.

That's next on my list. Top priority. If only I hadn't needed to get my AC evaporator coil fixed. Gsync cost barrier is a bitch.

Not every game supports a 21:9 ratio anyways.

Indeed. Isn't hard to keep the frame rate over 40fps.

I rarely have problems with my 290x, so your fury x should just laugh at it.

Did you switch your monitor's resolution to 1080P before running the test? I score a 1000 points higher when doing so on graphics.

That should not matter, as the tests render at a preset or user-defined resolution. Turning off freesync before running the test would be important though.

Is the screen glossy or matte finish? Thanks.
