It's a reviewer's kid and reviewers can not not sell the card they are given to review.

I have that same monitor. You'll love it. Pricey however.

I'm having one of those days where I don't know if I have a bad router or if Charter is fricking up.

Alright guys, so I'm looking at building my first PC towards the end of summer and I've started putting a build together. Just wanted to get some more veteran advice as it'll be my first time but here's what I've got.
Processor: i5 4690K @ 3.5Ghz
Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-Z97X-UD5H LGA 1150 Intel Z97 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0
Case: Phantek "Ethoo Pro" series full
RAM: 8 GB @ 1600 MT/s
Graphics: Gigabyte 780Ti
HDD: 1TB SATA 6GB/s
SSD: 240GB
Power: EVGA supernova 850w, 80+ gold
Any other things I should consider before moving forward with all that?

I have 780 Ti with water block for sale if you go with that card.

Looks good, assuming you're checking prices. There's some 8GB DDR3 1600 with some very tight timings (7-8-8-24) for $50 -- LINK
But, if you aren't building it right this minute, that RAM deal is irrelevant. Prices change with the wind. And depending on how long you wait, may be worth just going with Skylake.
What are you paying for the 780 Ti? Depending on the resolution you're going for, the 390X might be a better buy.
Don't forget a CPU cooler since I assume you're overclocking.

I found a 780Ti for $380. Is that a solid price for that or should I do a little more digging? It was the best price I could find for it.
I wasn't really planning on doing overclocking unless it's worth it?
ETA: Building it in August most likely.

How much are you looking to get for the card?
Posted on 6/29/15 at 12:46 pm to Dixie Normus
2x780 Ti for $350/ea. $400 for just 1. I'm currently holding 1 for someone on this board and a friend, but just check in before you make a purchase to see if 1 is still available. Also they come with water blocks/back plates.
Now, I would consider even going with a 970 @ 1080 just to get on new architecture. In 8 months, Kepler will be officially 2gens behind. If you are gaming @ 1440, I would consider a 390. The 390X prices are too high IMO.

So you guys would go with a 970 or 980 before the 780ti?
Posted on 6/29/15 at 3:17 pm to Dixie Normus
I have a spare 256gb Samsung 840 pro lying around somewhere I think. If you haven't bought an SSD yet I could sell you that

I'll go with a 780 Ti over a 970, especially at the new price points. If you dont plan on upgrading in a few years, then get the newer Maxwell architecture.

Haven't bought anything yet so I'm open to other options.
ETA to Coyote, I'm hoping this will last till I finish grad school in May 2018 then I can be making real money and have some fun with it.

Don't waste your money on a 970, get a 390 then.
