the game was always centered around a power stuggle and the templars on one side of the struggle. I could see this franchise going into ww2 where the nazis are templars. Think of indiana jones

Good point. This would be intriguing.

I am having to fight the urge to go pick this game up. I just really want it for some reason and I'm not even a huge AC fan.

This was how I was. I've played the others but I'm not a really big AC fan. But I think the fact that this is about pirates & I think that's pretty cool made me wanna get it. I love it.

I thinking of replaying 2 and then playing Brotherhood and Revelations since I never played those two. I think that would pass the time until PS4 arrives.

I recently started with 3 and I am one of the few people here who loved it. Because of that I am starting from the beginning, I found the previous games pretty cheap. So far 1 seems pretty clunky game-play wise but gonna try to power through it. I am really looking forward to 2 and the sequels based on the hype here. By that time I should have my next gen. of which ever I pick and hopefully 4 might be a little cheaper. Really looking forward to it.

Seriously just skip 1, they improved with 2 so much. I actually started a second play through of 2 to hold me over.

I think it may be worth it you may want to wait a week or so. you may save a few dollars if you do that. Note: this game while it does give you freedom right away it is still slightly limited in what you can do. I can't wait to get a ship that is a fortresses that can take on some of the big ships. I also hope the story picks up a little bit. Right now it still is kinda slowly teaching me the game as it gives me more things to do. One big plot line has already advanced but sense that happened maybe 30 min to an hour of game play has slowed down.

Example: one of my missions was to go on a small deserted island and kill animals.

Yeah I am probably going to fight the urge for awhile. I still have some messing around on GTA V I can do anyways. I like the hunting aspect that you mentioned, but I would prefer to do that on my own time, not be forced to it on a mission. I have heard that the gameplay is solid, but the story isn't as good as the older AC's.

the hunting is a important thing you have to improve your armor and holsters so it makes sense why they did it. I still feel like I'm at a point where I'm still learning to walk in the game and once I figure that out they will give me a lot of freedom and it will be lots of fun. It's decent but I have only played it about 2 or 3 hours so its very early.

My plan is to buy this on pc after I finish Origins if the pc version doesn't suck like most ubisoft pc games do.
If it does suck then I have to decide between wii u or ps3

Anybody know when you get the downloadable items? I just got through skinning the iguanas on the little island. Want to make sure I'm not missing them.

no idea most of the stuff you will be doing is improving your ship after that, at-least to the point where I'm at in the game.

I've already reached a point where you can do many good upgrades, but of course you have to pillage ships, rob plantations, etc to get the materials you need.

you will see this isn't available because you haven't reached this part in the story.
