I ordered a "No. 1(Single), sandwich only" from the Wendy's drive through once and it turned into a who's on first routine. The voice kept asking me what sandwich I wanted.

I know from the other thread that you have long been an OFS opponent. You don't like them and don't consider them a sandwich, but I'm interested on your take on the quesadilla. Is it because it is Mexican food or because tortillas or what?

I do not consider quesadillas, tacos or calzones to be sandwiches.

The rest on your list are sandwiches.

What other thread on sandwiches?

A quesadilla is not a sandwich to me.

Open face isn't a sandwich to me. It's toppings on a piece of bread. I don't think a toad in the hole is a sandwich either.

I don't care if other people consider those other things to be sandwiches. It's not that big a deal.

I think a calzone is similar just a meatpie type dish, Italian style.

I don't care for open face sandwiches either.

Sandwiches have two pieces of bread with a filling of some kind.

Tortilla's are not bread
calzones are not sandwiches... closer to a pastry IMO

All others are acceptable sandwiches

did you people not eat fold-over sandwiches? You don't have to have two pieces of bread to make a sandwich.

This is an easy answer. IF someone asks you what you had for lunch, what do you say?

If the average person eats a fricking quesadilla for lunch they don't say "sandwich". They say quesadilla.

Therefore, not a sandwich.

The end.

A fold over sandwich is merely a half sandwich.

My daughter calls them flop overs. I have no clue why.

I had four Hendricks martinis at Jubans for late lunch. I put two extra strength Tylenols between two slices of Bunny Bread. I call it an acetaminophen sandwich.

I would eat all of them and not waste my time wondering if I had eaten a sandwich.

Problem solved

You are welcome.

"In the United States, a court in Boston, Massachusetts ruled that "sandwich" includes at least two slices of bread.[1] and "under this definition, this court finds that the term 'sandwich' is not commonly understood to include burritos, tacos, and quesadillas, which are typically made with a single tortilla and stuffed with a choice filling of meat, rice, and beans."[15] The issue stemmed from the question of whether a restaurant that sold burritos could move into a shopping centre where another restaurant had a no-compete clause in its lease prohibiting other "sandwich" shops."

I say these are sandwiches. I've never said the sentence "I had a sandwich for lunch" and actually have eaten one of the above not in bold. You have to go with the primary term.

Only one I consider a sandwich in the true sense of the word on that list would be
Cheesesteak
Hamburge
Sub/Hoagie

The rest are not sandwiches...just meat/cheese/dressing in between some kind of edible vehicle.
