1) Grilled-grouper (throughout Gulf Coast in FL panhandle)
1A) Grilled-yellowfin (Southside, Slidell)
2) Any seafood po-boy

Note: a BLT is the most underrated.

Not Paper. Corning Corel maybe from before you were born. Hard to say for certain since you may be an old fart too.

I have it at least once a week.

My best homemade sammy

Ultimate Grilled Cheese: 4 cheeses, bacon, tomato, bacon, avocado, and bacon topped with bacon. Served on a paper plate.

Pokie's meatball with provo and eggplant is hard to beat.

That being said I have heresy to commit, I think our slavish devotion to the poboy robs of sandwich creativity, there are just so many other things you can do with bread, cheese, meat and condiments. Look at what people have posted to this thread, I could fly out tomorrow to wrap a tooth around some of those. But, only the chains provide much variety, and chains suck at real quality and creativity.

Red zeppelin - zeppwich. The spinach and artichoke dip with cheddar cheese chicken and banana peppers. Side of sour cream with an envie. Shits on point.
