Fried Egg is a good one, especially when half the joints use shitty quality eggs and don't know how to properly fry an egg (the point is for the yolk to actually pop and run, not to have yellow play doh mixed in with your food).
Sriracha is really annoying, especially now that they have Sriracha branded everything (salsa, crackers, chips, etc..). It went from a supposed scarcity that wasn't going to be made anymore with Save Sriracha campaigns going to being ubiquitous.
One that I've been thinking a lot about is the fast casual trend. On one hand, I like it because it allows you to get a decent meal quickly. On the other hand, the prices keep going up. In addition, part of going out to eat, for me, is the experience itself. I want some "entertainment" value in my dining. Getting in and out of a fast casual joint in 15 minutes doesn't really provide much "entertainment." Since I live in a college town, it seems that the majority of our new restaurants are adopting the fast casual model whereas fewer and fewer are actual sit down restaurants, so when I want to actually go out to a dinner and be waited on, I have limited choices. I get the economics of it and why restaurants do it, but it's a trend that's hurting my local dining scene.

I'm perfectly content to sit around the pool and drink Natty Lights.

Had this same thought when I ate at Southfin Poke the other day.
It was good, but i'm not sure if it was $15 good, all factors considered.

Unlike bacon, a well executed fried egg does make most things better

What Is The Worst Food Trend At This Moment?
Instagram meals that are made solely to look good in a picture, but taste like shite.
Sushi donuts
Eggs baked inside avocados
Ramen Burgers
Rainbow bagels with birthday cake cream cheese
That Unicorn Starbucks drink

This.
Like every red-blooded American, I love bacon, but it seems like everyone is just forcing bacon into every possible dish whether it makes sense or not.

my biggest complaint about the "bacon on everything" fad is that the majority of the time the bacon ends up flabby and chewy
I almost always end up just taking it off

I don't have an issue with food towers if the items are meant to be eaten together. If they aren't, it's not only pretentious bullshite, but it's pretentious bullshite that forces me to deconstruct my own damned food at the table.

Yep. Most of the bacon restaurants put on burgers is straight up awful.
