Chicken and Waffles

When done well, like at Roscoe's, it's awesome.

But just putting a piece of chicken on top of a waffle with some syrup on the side (like most places do) is pitiful.

My kids' school does this. Frozen chicken fingers on top of frozen waffles. That's not chicken and waffles, it's a freaking abomination.

false scarcity. Like Don Perignon - they make 5 million bottles a year of that and pretend they make a hundred.

It's Dom Pérignon (with an "m"), and I was not aware that they do this.

Yep. Chicken n waffles, in and of itself is a freaking abomination. Maybe it tastes good, but do not tell me that is a traditional, Southern dish. It isn't. I grew up as "southern" as anyone could...never heard of or saw this "dish" until food television took off in the last 20 years or so.

For me, the fried egg on everything. Just stupid.

This is not really a new food trend. This has been done for thousands of years for extra protein. It is very prevalent outside of the US.

It's just a rather stupid concoction. And I thought it was last a "trend" about 10 years ago.

Everything is not an IPA. That's just what gets mentioned here a bunch, but there is a ton of other beer out there.

Honestly, I find that the IPA craze is beginning to wane somewhat (and I say that as a non-beer person). While it still seems to be the most popular style, I'm seeing other styles increasingly talked about.

In my opinion, even people who hate IPAs should appreciate the surge in its popularity. Ever since IPAs took off, I've seen smaller breweries become significantly less timid in trying styles that aren't mass crowd pleasers. It's nice seeing a small surge in porters, goses, and hell, some breweries are even flirting with some true sours.

I'm not sure if we end up as far along as we are if people didn't lose their minds over IPAs.

Needs some bacon. And sriracha. And a hazy IPA to wash it down with.

I don't have an issue with food towers if the items are meant to be eaten together.

The problem is, just like the picture, they put the item that needs to be cut on the very top. Now you either have to remove it from the top while scooting the vegetable over to the side of the plate or try to cut the item without the vegetable shooting off the plate. Dumb.
