What's the deal?

Fairly common in the area - along with seasoning crawfish with spices after boiled.

Down votes from hell, lol. I didn't mean to offend anyone. It just seems that would take away from the actual taste of crawfish.

The crawfish and boil spices should speak for themselves. No need for sauce.

I generally don't dip em, but when I make a few sacks, I'll put that on the table for others.

It's not bad for an occasional change of pace.

I use for my potatoes and sausage. Growing up my parents always made the dip. I always figured it was for kids to help out with the spiciness of the boil. I must admit I use the dip with fried seafood instead if tarter sauce.

I'm too busy eating crawfish to worry about dipping the tails in a sauce. Waisting valuable eating time.

People seem to love dipping their crawfish in Cane's sauce.

I do. It's the perfect complement sauce, imo, especially when the batch is just ok. I mostly use it for the potatoes, though.

Perhaps, but I don't see a big deal with the sauce. If I'm having a boiled crawfish salad with leftovers, I want a dressing and usually something like remoulade. Not a lot of difference in that and dipping.

I assume you also eat plain hamburgers, French fries without ketchup, coffee with no cream, pancakes with no syrup , toast with no butter, and salads with no dressing

Since their preparation should speak for itself
