The new Popeyes in Scott just jumped to #1 on my list, by a long shot. I walked in to a very clean restaurant with very pleasant employees. Noticed not many people were waiting, then realized why. The manager, a grown man in his late 30s to early 40s is standing behind the very pleasant lady taking orders and building them immediately. Before I, or anyone else, was finished paying the meal was waiting for me on the counter. Tenders, dark meat, white meat, you name it. Great experience.

I highly recommend stopping by the Popeyes in Scott if you're ever traveling west.

Buffet?

Also, I don't even know where the frick Scott is

It wasn't a buffet, but it was great. I'm afraid of buffets. I eat really fast and am a pretty little guy and before I know it I start foaming from the mouth because I've had to much. Buffets are just not good for me. Therefore, I'm okay with having a regular restaurant as #1.

Magazine St. is legit. It's in my hood and is consistent. And the staff isn't bad once you learn the language.

Agreed. Closest to my house, and super friendly the last two times I have been. The language barrier did take some work though.

Is it bad that I've been to 7/10 of those?

The one almost in Maurice was just like this. Still best service from a Popeye's I can get in Lafayette. But they don't stay that way forever.

Popeyes on Burbank-Baton Rouge,LA

They are remodeling the inside and have a sign saying 'opening soon' on the door. They probably been waiting on wallmarks across the street.

Are all of the items on menu on the buffet? Are they of the same quality?

Mr. Jim's two piece "steal a meal" was survival food during college. I loved their slogan too:

"Mr. Jim's is the word for the bird" So ratchet.

I know folks (not you bbrou) like to beat down Popeye's.

I would like to stand up for the Meridian Popeye's stores.

There are two - one in front of Sam's and one on 8th street on the west side of town. Both are excellent stores. We stopped yesterday after church on 8th street. Had the nicest counter girl you could want. She was courteous, knew her stuff. rang the order up (2 three piece combos with redbeans and biscuit) and automatically gave me the "Old Geezer" discount without me even asking. By the time I had handed the wife the cups to go fill them and pulled my wallet out, they were placing the orders on the counter.

Chicken was great. tender, juicy perfect crust, great flavor. Red beans were spot on and I wish I could make a biscuit that good.

Thing is, that is the way they (both locations) are every time we go to Popeye's. Granted it is only about every six weeks, but how can they arrange to have their A-Team available only when I decided to have a chicken and biscuit?

I would recommend Popeye's to anyone passing through Meridian at any time. Ten years here and never been disappointed a single time.

I wish even one of the other Meridian restaurants were so dependable. Honestly, I have been somewhat disappointed with Mr B's in NOLA more times in the past 10 years than with Popeye's in Meridian. and Mr. B's is nearly perfect (1 out of 4 visits in 10 years had an error in our order that they took forever to make right).
