After a very cold, cloudy spring my peppers are starting to produce. We've had a lot of flooding up here and heard that if your plants were under water with flood you should just throw them away because of contamination.

I'm on high ground so didn't have that problem. What ya'll got?

We've had lots of drought.

Despite the drought I've got a great cop of tomatoes, melon, cucumber, peppers and zucchini. And my asian pear is almost ripe.

I have a bumper tomato crop including a romantic tomato plant that came up on its own in my ornamental bed in front of my house. I suspect I threw some roma scraps into the compost bin and then I spread compost in the front in february. I have 10 or 12 romas on it and have done absolutely nothing in the way of fertiliser or watering. The rainiest may on record helped.

Tomatoes are almost done, peppers and cucumbers producing full tilt. Getting ready to pull up the tomatoes and plant purple hull peas.

About to explode with Roma tomatoes . Picking some cherries too. My peppers suck harder than Paul Allen (Lester) at a pop sickle eating contest. Basil and other herbs are awesome, though.

Anyone have any advice for getting the bugs off naturally? Trying not to spray...

Lots of okra, cherry tomatoes and banana peppers. Romas are about to turn

Tomato might be the best season ever in 25 years.
Cooked down a ton yesterday and just went an picked another 15-20.

Cucumber did great as well, gave away a bunch.

Pickling cucumbers did great, put up 24 jars and pulled the plant yesterday and planted Okra.

Eggplants starting to come in, three plant each with 4-5 eggplants each looking good.

Snap beans doing good, wish I had planted more.

Squash and zucchini did good but died out early.

Peppers have struggled for some reason, but still picking a few.

Tomatoes didn't do well. Corn is doing really good.

Dish soap and water, baking soda and water will deter many bugs. Also a horticultural oil like ultra fine oil is a low toxicity option. What works depends on the specific bug you want to target.

Beer kills snails and tastes good, too.

Use food grade diatomaceous earth.....though when spreading make sure you wear a dust mask.

I was getting ready to post that and then saw your good advice.

Seven works great and is safe if package directions are followed. Chemically, it is sort of like nerve gas.

So, is this the stuff that makes bugs cut their legs off when they try to climb up on the plant?
