I gave Table 3 chances and they disappointed every time. I can fully understand why they would close.

I'll add Kabob's to the list.

I hope Umami doesn't fold; it's my favorite place in town right now. That chef (Cong) is seriously legit. Went to their 1-year anniversary this past Sunday and it was on-point as usual. That whole aji is unreal.

Are any Backyard Burgers locations still open? Don't see how they can last much longer.

Pit N Peel should've never opened, under financed and delusional owner, crazy prices, bad crawfish, know a kid that worked there briefly..

Has a damn bbq pit eating up two of the only four parking spots out front on Govt St as a prop..real smart!

IamGLORIOUS, the one by Sam's on Seigen was still open a few months ago, I sometimes would stop to get that Hawaiian Chicken Sandwich w/Pineapple, if going to Lowe's.

Everything Philly on LSU campus - never been though

Good food, great location, prices are a little steep. However, they have shown a willingness to listen to criticism and adapt. As said before, their core product, the philly cheesesteak, is really really good. So, they may make it.

Mama's grill maybe?

You mean Your Mom's? I could see it. It's never been crowded when I've gone despite the food being pretty good. There are better places in its price point, plus places that are comparable but been around far longer (see Brewbachers).

The Mexican place? They get pretty decent crowds. I don't see them closing.

Canefield Tavern might not last. They have the same problem as Your Mom's. Good, not great, food at a price point with a ton of nearly identical, but better established, competition.

PhillyMeUp >>>>>>>>>>>South Of Philly

Have had three straight bad trips via Sherwood and Pville SoP locations. PMU is clearly better at Cheessteaks and other sandwiches.

I agree, maybe the best drive-thru burger in BR?

I have to agree with this. Their prices are definitely too high. The quality is good, but it doesn't justify the cost.

How in the world is Boil and Roux still around?

I know, right. I called for them to be gone at the end of last year's crawfish season. Also Sam's Southern Eatery listed Boil & Roux's address as one of their "Coming Soon" locations. So I thought they were gone. But nope.

But I think the real reason they are still around is because of black people. They have claimed it as their own. Just like the nearby Golden Corral. (This has made me aware that the black community is seriously underserved in Baton Rouge. Black Eaters Matter)

But I doubt they are making much money. The cars in the parking lot is an illusion. The cars that get there at 12 are the same cars that are still there at 2. But that is my drive by experience. They could be doing better than I think, but I doubt it.

I agree -- problem is, I never see any cars there, and the area has become over saturated with burger joints.

You know, this isn't a terrible point. Whatever the name of the seafood place on Sherwood in the old Brewbachers building..?? It served pretty much exclusively black folks.

I hope Capital City Crawfish doesn't close; it's really good. Crappy location, though.

We went to Omi yesterday for an early dinner, and were the only diners there. I'd hate for it to close, because it's the best Chinese food I've found down here.

Omi is great -- only place I like better is 9 Dragon Noodle House. They have some legit eccentric authentic Chinese dishes there.

I wouldn't be heart broken if Omi found a better spot. I hate to think of them closing though. If I could pick 1 BR restaurant to keep, that would be mine. There's no substitute for it in this state.
