Pretty much this but it's Wendy's for me. "Snobbing out" also doesn't mean I will ridicule people for their choices. I'll just think to myself that I'll never understand it. I have some friends that literally never order a menu item how it comes. They have to change something and it is almost always to leave something off. On the inside it drives me nuts.

I did end up at On The Border with a coworker not too long ago... it wasn't terrible. No drinks or anything though, just some chips and salsa and then some pulled pork tacos.

About the only "snob" thing I could be accused of is staying out of Wal Mart and Lowes at all costs.

I could easily do chain Mexican because I'm a queso junkie. Some melted cheese and chips.. I'm fine.

I just think the word snob is used way too often in regards to food and drinking.
Kind of how so many want to label everyone and everything as being hipster if it doesn't fit a certain profile

I agree with that. And I think there is too much negative stigma attached to it.

Why is it a bad thing for someone to have food/drink as a passion/hobby and be snobby about it? Are golfers not snobby about someone coming out there in their WalMart clubs and hitting with no form?

.. is anyone with any hobby not a snob when someone who isn't part of "that world" comes in and does it wrong? Yes! Of course. It happens when you love something that much.

It just so happens that the act of putting food and drink into your body for nourishment is something every human does, so having it as a hobby makes you a snob in a bad way.

I am without a doubt a snob.

It's my money that I earned through work (or was given by the government), and I will gladly give it up for higher quality ingredients and to support locals.

The only time I see negative reaction is on message boards.

Think about it. The only time I ever see people say something along the lines of, "Well, it's not up the the particular standards of my palate" is on a message board or similar medium. To me, it's pretentious, and deserves some ribbing.

If you say something like that in front of me, my family, or my friends, you're going to get some crooked assed looks and laughs.

I think you can have a food or drink hobby, or be an enthusiast, or advocate, without being snobby about it. When there is pretentiousness about it, or a sense of superiority because of it, that's when it becomes snobbery, and that should have a negative stigma attached

I am definitely in a phase of exploring higher quality food and drinks, but I don't feel like I'm snobbish.

However, I definitely won't touch BMC beers anymore, and genuinely feel bad for people who only drink that stuff. There are just so many better options out there.

I may come off as snobbish at parties if someone offers me cheap shite and I refuse, but I don't care.

I can find something to eat at any place someone wants to go. I much prefer a craft beer, but I will accept a coors light anytime if its all that is available and it's cold. If I get to choose what to spend my money on, id rather pay for a nice meal and good service, but I can do whatever if people I am with would rather not have to spend much or something.

Refusing Bud Light at a party is definitely snobby

What if I refuse a coke because I don't like it? Is that snobby?
