Most people wouldn't have wrote the fricking letter. There is only one reason to write the letter, and it is not to let them know they did a good job. You go to the restaurant again and give them your business to let them know that.

Who writes a letter to any restaurant? If you have a bad experience, take it up then and there, or just don't go back to that restaurant.

treble writes "reviews" on restaurant FB pages, I'm 100% certain of this

The OP got all pissy just because my buddy teabagged his turtle soup. Some folks are just too sensitve.

Correct. Believe it or not that is what happened.

So, then Ruth's gives you a bottle of wine and you still wrote a letter to the restaurant after that?

Correct. That is along the lines of what I expected based upon the situation.

What did Ruth's have to do with the experience unless you asked Ruth's to remove the people and they didn't?

It was in a Ruth's Chris restaurant? The manager appeared to try to talk to them, however, based on their comments at our table they were, IMO, hammered. In my estimation, they could not entirely grasp what was going on. They were indeed heavily intoxicated.

Trust me, the waiter was given much praise in the letter for all he tried to do.

I don't see what you are missing. Ruth's showed a great deal of generosity by what they did. I posted about it.

I still don't know if you asked them to leave.

I still don't know why you wrote a letter to RC about this. Obviously, RC recognized something here and gave you a bottle of wine. What else did you want them to do that warranted the need for the letter. I don't get that part.

Did you write RC and suggest that the matter should have been handled differently by the restaurant? If so, in what way?

Again, did you ask the folks to leave your table?

I went Ruth's last week and thought the plate was too hot, I wrote a letter, and got a gift certificate.

No other reason to take the time to do it if that wasn't the goal.
