The bar in the bowling alley (Fulton Lanes) had some good cocktails. First time I saw a bartender use a stick to draw out a bit of the drink and sample it, then add more bitters to it.

we did latitude 29 a couple weeks ago. wasn't really my thing.

I really enjoy the hermes bar (antoines)

That would entail the writer having visited New Orleans in the last decade. Yes I know Latitude 29 is new too but it's been covered substantially by several publications which the 'author' of this piece no doubt ripped off.

Wouldn't the majority of places that are popular and/or trendy be good? At least for a visitor to check out.

Of course. I'm not suggesting any of these places are particularly bad. Just that there is nothing particularly novel, or even really informative, about these types of listings that one couldn't glean from a simple glace at Yelp or something like that..
