Hi!

Since ya'll were so helpful with other restaurant recommendations, I'd love to hear opinions on THE places to go in San Francisco.

Any type of food, any price... it just has to be around or in San Francisco.

TIA!!

Foreign Cinema is a cool experience. La Mar is down at Pier 1. It was very nice.

Ristorante Milano LINK has damn fine gnocchi. Boulevard LINKis one of the nicest dining rooms I've ever been in and the menu was awesome when we went. Brazen Head LINK is an unusual mafia-style joint with crazy thick atmosphere and a traditional style menu.

There are tons of reviews to pour through (The Brazen Head has some horrible ones...but I find them funny), see if any of these pique your interest.

My sis-in-law took us on a bike pub crawl. We hit Thirsty Bear, Zeitgeist, Toronados, and finished at the Beach Chalet. Zeitgeist & Toronados had an extensive selection. I finally got to try some Pliny the Elder.

Ad Hoc
Bouchon

Addendum - part of ad hoc - go here for lunch one day

Redd
Bottega
Mustard's Grille

All fantastic.

As far as wineries go, schweiger and ladera are a couple of my favs.

I am spending a week in san fran over labor day, def let me know what you liked. I have never spent time in actual san fran, always in oakland or napa.

If you're staying in San Fran, want do do Napa & have a DD, then try this: Napa Wine Tour. It was only $120 a person, all of the wineries were great, it included lunch, and the ride over Golden Gate & Ferry ride back were both very cool. The cost of each tasting was only about $10/person. You could buy a glass of wine at lunch; which was simple but sufficient. Check them out on TripAdvisor. They had hundreds of reviews and over 4.5 start I think.
