La Morenita is underrated both as a grocery store/butcher and as a deli

on Dempsey's

I've tried it all, including recommendations of some of the employees. Just found it all to be very average, nothing special.

I agree, good, but nothing special.

I agree with a lot of the nominees, esp Nino's, but on Coursey, a block off Sherwood, is New Orleans Poboys. I was pissed at them when I 1st moved here because it is not N.O. poboy bread, however the sandwiches and salads are outstanding. In particular the Philly, either beef, chicken or shrimp are my favorite in BR.

I could eat Dempsey's gumbo every day. The rest is above avg but they are consistent and good across the board. Which makes it a good place. Downfall has only been their fries which have gotten better.

Even though it's closed, Ronnie's Ribs holds the title of Baton Rouge's most underrated and under utilized restaurant. She had some of the best tasting food in the city.

Out of those currently open, I might have to go with Crawford's Two.

In terms of bar food, I'd say Ivars is very underrated or not even known they sell food...with that said, I enjoy their Po' boys and their wings IMO the best in town

I agree. The AYCE ribs with 2 sides and Texas toast is one of the best deals in town. Their dry-rub ribs are great.

Is this the place next to Live Music?

I was looking for something at the music store and noticed it there. Didn't try it though. Vaguely recognized the name (granted, there are probably a million "Anthony's Italian Delis" in the world) and immediately associated it with this board.

Is Anthony's>Pocorello's?

Anthony's has better deli sandwiches, Pocorello's has better poboys. I really like both.
