I begged them to open up a place in LC. LC is severely lacking in the casual oyster bar type establishment.
Just an observation on my part, but LC has got to be weird market. Kinda like BR in that its not really Cajun. Stuff like Dupuis, Blacks, Shucks that do well in Laffy/Abbeville may have a hard time in LC? Just my .02 worth... Hey, and you have Crab Palace

Have tried le creole twice, had a bad experience both times. The second time we were sat and didn't have anyone come to the table, got up and told the hostess after about 15 min, waited another 10 and still nothing. Got up and left and had the hostess chase me into the parking lot offering to comp our meal, refused and went across the street to Ruffinos.

Worst part was they weren't even busy and employees were walking around everywhere, 2 other tables they sat around the same time as us never got waited on either.

Waitress of that section must have left without telling the hostess

I'm more excited about jubans "bistro" coming to the area. But, it doesn't have farm, pig, or table in the name so it's already out of style.

Shuck's will cater to the common folks, won't be as pricey as Drago's and beat them with a better variety and service.

I grew up in the LC area and have been in BR for about 13 years. LC has way more cajun influence than BR has.

Shucks is fantastic. Portions are ridiculous, and the bread pudding is out of this world.

Whoever goes in there better be able to put asses in the seats because that is a large space with Class A rent. They will be toting a nice note.

People go to Shucks often in Abbeville, I'm not quite sure why though

Last time I went to Dupuys, I was disappointed with how little food I got for the money. No complaints on the taste or the service there. I got two full meals out of the seafood platter at shucks, I finished it easily at dupuys. To each his own I guess.

That guys whole deal was high end food at good prices. Went there and the food was average to below average and was the same price as ruffinos. Had some terrible guy playing awful music. It was not a great experience and the last time we went. There were 4 different couples and all had the same thoughts.

Is this true? It sucked hard when I ate there and I have seen others hit it pretty hard on this board as well.

By and large, restaurants don't move to a smaller location just a few feet down the road from the original location because business is booming.

This move will not hurt or improve peoples opinion of the restaurant. Seems like he is trying to make it more cost efficient. Less rent. Less labor. But don't expect the prices to go down.

Frankly, I'm more interested in what's going with Wayne's new Jefferson Hwy location (Stab's Prime Steak and Seafood). Looks to me he has his neck sticking out with that location and he is trying to get his shite together with Le Creole before tackling that money hungry beast.
