All their IPAs are very average. Im choosing all of the Lagunitas line of IPAs over the DFH.

Dont drink stouts or porters so that means nothing to me.

Never had the other two.

Maybe the stores will place the Lagunitas brews between the Shock Top and Shiner Bock like they do here in Florida!

You act like Florida is some traditional bastion of craft beer when in reality five years ago 99.99% of Florida's beer market was rednecks who more interested in drinking the beer that matched their favorite NASCAR drivers car than trying something new.

I'm the opposite. I'd rather drink a Stone, DFH and possibly a Sweetwater IPA over a Lagunitas IPA. Doesn't mean I think that they're a Second tier brewery though.

My favorite does resemble the colors of Jimmy Johnson's car, shite now I've got some thinking to do...

In all seriousness, FL has made great strides particularly since 2011'. Given the structure of the laws and regulations here its been no small feat. That said, I'll go ahead and concede that NC is probably the best beer State in the Southeast but the ISO:FT sure favors FL...

I'd rather DFH over Lagunitas as well. DFH puts out so many beers. Some suck, some are good, a few a great. I just like trying different beers.

I'll always stick with local beers for my everyday drinkers.

I'm not a big Lauganitas fan but it's huge here. Not really big into IPAs tho

Yup, In personally think the SoPro IPA is your best bet down here for a single IPA.

This would be my bet although I think we have some older ones floating around now.. I'm not a big fan of the stone ipa (regular one-although I could have gotten old ones), sweetwater ipa, and thought founders centennial was ok/good. Haven't tried green flash.

Just to give a reference, my favorite ipa's so far have been jai alai, westbrook ipa, and surly furious which you can't find here.

I would buy Great Raft beers over Lagunitas, Sweetwater, Terrapin, New Belgium, just about every single time if I had the opportunity. I think more bars here need to showcase the beers of the local guys.

So Shreveport puts out something good for a change and now you wanna claim it as local.

I think that's fair enough. I claim the stuff out of Bend is local, even though it's about as far a way from Portland as Shreveport is from BR.

More regional than local. So Pro is more local than GR IMO. And I said if I was buying mediocre beer I might as well buy local mediocre beer.

Sounds like you like your IPA's nice and citrusy (I don't think that's a word). My guess is that the Lagunitas IPA won't be at the top of your list.

Now if we could just get Dogfish.

Dogfish is not expanding to Louisiana anytime soon. I email once or twice a year about this.

Here is the response when i emailed them in April.

quote:

Thanks so much for your interest in Dogfish Head! It’s sad to say, but beyond the four markets we are re-entering, at this time we will not be adding any new markets. I know it’s hard to hear, it’s hard to say! We're working hard to support the markets we're already in. We appreciate your support and if you get a chance come see us here in Delaware sometime!
