If you have time go to Breaux Bridge and eat at Zapote. Hole in the wall but good!

Lafondas for drinks, but not good food; Lapagua for authentic Mex, and El Paso if you want the Louisiana mexican dynasty.
Also Myas is damn good, but is on Hwy 90 across from Frank's Casing.

No one ever talks about Tampico's in Laf. I enjoy the food there and if you go on Friday or Saturday night the karaoke makes for a fun time. Gets a little trashy in there though

I really like Posados and it is a chain, however its a small privately owned chain out of east Texas so I think that allows them to have better quality control.

homemade tortillas, good salsa and queso, and good margaritas. all of those are a must for me for tex mex.
