I and many other enjoy going to his restaurants very much. But after this I feel that it's just a matter of time before the all close up shop. There will be a sharp decline in revenue at his spots. I think he closes them down quick as soon as the get a whiff of profit loss.

1000s have worked for him over the years in New Orleans. I'm sure someone here has some first hand knowledge(or lack of) for that matter. So let's hear it?!

He will sell them and I’m sure there are willing buyers

I think Restaurant August will hang in. It's too good of a place just to go down with this news

I know at least 25 people who would disagree with that statement...

Yes, everybody needs to read that article. It's the most detailed thing I have read on all this.

We have several of his cookbooks. One of them signed by him. I like the books. If he has stepped down and they are putting HR in place and making an effort to right the wrongs, I see no reason to stop going there.

I am uncertain if many will fully understand the anger and distress that sexual harassment causes many women in the workplace.

Evidently Besh fostered an environment of harassment in his company. If he didn't foster this environment, he certainly did nothing to stop it and most reasonable people would never believe that he did not know. If he had any reasonable knowledge and did nothing to address it, he is at least fully guilty of mismanagement of his company.

I am a very suspicious person. but I do not trust that the full truth has been shared by Besh or by his company. I smell lies and coverup of corporate action here and evidently the press believed the same lack of truth, because they spent 9 months gathering their evidence before going public.

I saw Besh walking down the ramps after a Saints game a few years ago. I’d had a few. We saw Tim Brando minutes before and my wife started yelling in his face, “ESPN GUY, ESPN GUY!!” He looks at me with a wtf sort of expression and I shrugged like ‘hey man, she’s a chick.’

Fast forward a few seconds and we walk past Besh. I didn’t wanna be outdone by her drunkenness, so I yelled, “HEY JOHN BESH........YOU SUCK!” (I had nothin)

Anyway, we all lol’d and he still sucks to this day.

It’s a cool story, and you’re my bro.

Well, cast aside the assault part for a moment.

There's plenty of other stuff that seems to qualify for a highly hostile work environment.

I don't think the TP would have spent 8 months on this very detailed article if the situation was lacking serious substance.

I sent this story to a super-highly respected person in their chosen field (not in Louisiana), and he seriously thought it was a trendy thing, "inspired" by the Harvey Weinstein situation, with no actual merit to their claims.

A lot of men just hate women.

Well, he certainly wasn't acting like one. His family, however, is very Catholic.
Based on the actions of priests of the Catholic Church, I agree. A true Catholic would have had "harassed" little boys. I am a former Catholic.

Do you think I should throw away my Besh cookbook in my kitchen? It's signed and a pretty hardcover book with good recipes. Does the author's indiscretions cancel out his good works?

It just means your $75 autographed Besh cookbook isn’t worth half what you think. I’d personally never own one of his cookbooks. But not because of all of his sexual abuse. Because his food is straight up garbage.

People piling it on I see.

I wouldn’t go that far but I’m not as big of a fan of August as some on here. I do like Dominica, Pizza Dominica, Borgne, etc. . His cookbooks are very well written imo also. I’m waiting to see what comes out of this before I convict him in my mind like a lot of people on here. He’s probably employed a ton of people over the years so it’s not out of the question that the Times Picayune couldn’t find some disgruntled current or former employees. I’m sure there is something to the allegations but it may not be as bad as what the article makes it out to be or it could be worse possibly.
