I heard that 2 Amigos on Williams in Kenner is a clone of Poncho's. I think it's where Come Back Inn used to be. Supposedly, the manager used to be a manager at Poncho's and simply recreated that restaurant when Poncho's closed.

I'm nostalgic for some of that bowel-cleansing cheap Mexican food out of a can.

I've heard the same from several people.

More importantly, 2 of my younger brothers frequent the place and swear it's spot on with Pancho's ... even better in some aspects.

Why would you do this when there is a Taco Tico on Williams?

Taco Tico is a place I've gone to for over 40 years, but it's not what it once was.

I would go to this place just to experience one more time the Ponch's experience.

Oh man. Growing up in Alexandria, I've only heard stories about the glory of Poncho's. I can't count the nights I've tossed and turned about how I live here now and can't share that experience with the locals.

I'm gonna have to check this joint out ASAP. I know it won't be the same, I can never talk about it with the locals, but at least I can taste something like that experience.

What was glorious about Pancho's was the effluence it created; like a Piet Mondrian in a toilet bowl...

My toilet is too far from Williams Blvd to risk a Pancho's ripoff.

There is still a panchos in dallas and we went about two years ago for old times sake

I expected the worst but I kid you not it wasn't that bad. For $7 all you can eat it was great

Very true. You will never be a real Metairian, but you would fit in well at Kenny's Key West and/or Rummel.

Skip Two Amigos it's crap

Had to check... not just one, there are FIVE Pancho's locations in Dallas.

To think of the horrors I'm going to inflict on my co-workers on my next trip there

There is one near me here in the Houston area. I ate there last Sunday because I was close and it was basically how I remembered it. For some reason I love their tacos.

I used to stop by the one off of 20 from time to time on the way to Ft. Worth for nostalgia's sake. It never disappointed in both food memories and diarrhea.
