Yeah, that's a downer. I usually find myself looking on twitter and running them down on the other side of town. I think most have gotten into a pattern in where they're going to be for lunch or dinner because it's successful, and they stick to it. I think they have tried other areas, but due to what I brought up in this thread, the hesitation of people or confusion as to what it is still today, people don't hit them up like in other places where it's becomming normal to them, and people are talking it up at work and such. The day this becomes more mainstream is the day I think you will see even more food trucks, and in different areas around town. For now, I'd venture to say that MAYBE 1-2% of Baton Rougeans have even tried food from one of these trucks, and that may be a bit high.

Still the best burger in BR by far.

I realized the Brian 2.0 and the breakfast burger from BooKoo have the exact same toppings, but due to type of meat and bun used I give the edge to BooKoo.

I keep trying to catch Curbside, but when I'm working at OLOL, they're at LSU South, doing a catering gig, or elsewhere. When I'm not at OLOL, they're somewhere off of Essen.

all its going to take is one serious food borne illness to spawn from one of these trucks before the city cracks down on these guys

They undergo the same inspections as the bricks and mortar places.

What's funny about all that is those food trucks probably spend more time cleaning their trucks and being careful with product and the like than do many if not even most brick and mortars simply for the simple fact that it's a small work space and you have to be smart when working in such a small work space. Keeping things clean and organized is pretty critical to being effecient and working smart. That just makes good sense.

Additionally, I wonder if a brick and mortar got people sick, if the city would crack down on all brick and mortars as a result, or really just the lone bad apple?

Whoa, what was Smokey's deal with the food trucks? I don't want George's to go out of biz, but I bet Robert Irvine would give Smokey a good tongue lashing if he inspected the George's/roach motel on G O'Neal.

Smokey hates food trucks because they have a better product than he does and it's not "fair" that they can be mobile and he can't

So he tried to set up legislation that would make food trucks have their windows face the opposite side and couldnt park x amount of feet near a brick and mortar.

Basically he was using his position on the metro council to stifle other businesses that were competing with his.

Unamerican.

As opposed to brick and mortar buildings?

The food trucks are 100 times cleaner than brick and mortar restaurants.

Fair or not, the food trucks are held to a higher standard.

I've been wanting to try Curbside but some reviews make it sound like more trouble than it's worth

I'm not waiting around an hour for a burger

Too bad they can't spend the same amount of time updating their website on where they will be each week. It is Tuesday afternoon and it still shows last week. Get it together

Martini and I agree on something.. Jeezus Chrise I see the four horsemen..

It's a greazzzzyyyy burger.. and those french fries are so nasty. They're little grease sponges soaking in a puddle of oil.

I've had two of their burgers so far. Enjoyed both very much.

But I agree about the fries, they are pretty crappy.
