if it rains like it did last year and in years past, it really doenst matter where you have it. Unless its on concrete its gonna be sloppy.

UNO grounds have shells underlying. Slop should not be a problem even with heavy rain.

I have no delusions that the 501c3 used the park for free. I'd love to be privy to the details of the transaction, why don't you elaborate NOFOX. I wasn't angered by how HOGS used the grounds. I did assume that the overall net effect of the event on city park was a financial loss after all necessary grounds repairs were completed. As such, I was upset with City Park, not HOGS. Perhaps I'm wrong, please enlighten m

BO can share if he wants, but the Park did not lose money on Hogs. Ground repairs were not as significant as you are envisioning. Grounds were also already shite from the marathon concert the weekend before. City Park didn't repair the grounds after that event, so the damage was actually from two events.

grass needs dirt to grow. with rains like that and thousands of people stomping around on it, anywhere would be muddy. fact.

Dude, I'm sure all they really had to do was spread a little dirt and shite. It wasn't major damage

City Park should have handled the aftermath better in regards to who needed to pay for what in repairs.

Sucks that I will no longer able to bike, but probably a good move for the event. I'll still support and have a feeling most others will too.

I'll make it this year. I always hate going to city park for any even, parking always sucks.

The venue change seems like a good thing....the City Park site was a mess. It wasn't well suited for the cooking activities, especially. Hope that UNO works well. The crowds will follow....no one's gonna skip the event simply because it moved a couple miles away.

Considering the large contingent that biked to city park now won't bike to the lakefront you might want to get there early to find good parking

I am admittedly not a biker, but why can't someone bike to UNO? Its another 4 miles, which seems like a far bike ride to me, but I dont ride.

We also plan on having cab stands/ride share stands.

One could bike right up the lakefront. Maybe it will even increase the # of bikes

I guess some still will. You're looking at a 40 minute casual bike ride to go nearly 5 miles. I just can't see as many people biking to the event considering how city park is surrounded by neighborhoods and LFA is kinda not. And the ones that are close by do not seem like Hogs demographic.

I doubt many people were biking 40 mins to city park. I think it was mainly people that lived close by. And there were a good bit of bikers.

I'm not hating. Just observing. Parking to me isn't a big deal. I'll walk a mile before I waste my time looking for a close Parking spot

That's what I was thinking....and the relocation opens things up to an entirely new potential crop of cyclists.

A lot biked because Ciry Park had no parking.
UNO doesn't have that issue

I figured people in that area did. No idea the number but im guessing maybe 10% or less did.

New location seems like a good idea. If you were riding bikes to previous years, just take an uber now. I want to say there was a discount for rides to and from the event. Regardless, its a few bucks per person for the ride there and back. No biggie

Not sure the numbers. Good bit walked & biked. The bike racks were always jammed

To be clear, didnt think you were hating, just wanted more info around biking so we can address and prepare for issues.

I always see folks biking from all parts of the city to Jazz Fest and it always looks like work to me no matter the distance. Thanks for the insight, appreciate it.
