Hey Wick are you still planning a group buy on a Kamado grill this summer? If so do you know when and what brand?

FWIW, I bought a Kamado Joe Classic (18 1/2")about 5 weeks ago and I couldn't be happier. I would highly recommend it to anybody in the market for a ceramic.

Not in the same class, but Costco (in store) has a 24 inch Pit Boss Kamado Grill for $200 off, now $399 in store.

I was thinking about the primo XL. Luckily, just changed out the gaskets on my junior and cleaned it up this past weekend.

Kamado Joe roughly $250 less. KJ comes with more accessories included in standard purchase price.....heat deflector/plate setter being the most obvious. I think the KJ "Divide & Conquer" grill system offers more flexibility than BGE's. Metal parts on KJ are powder coated....BGE's are painted.

Google "Big Green Egg vs Kamado Joe" and you'll find 10/12 articles comparing the two. KJ is as good or better in every category......at a much lower price.

Went to the Lafayette store yesterday to buy one for my dad. Poor quality is the reason they are 399. However, if anyone is still interested they had about 5 of them on the floor.

Oh, and i didn't buy one. Just seemed cheaply made. I came with a stand, 2 tier rack and a cover.
