The arancini are great. The bread, great.

Also the single worst veal Marsala I’ve ever had. Tasted like Heinz beef gravy out of a jar with two pieces of mystery meat about the size of a medium sticky note. For that experience, I’ll never go back.

This was my most recent experience. Waiter wasn't rude, he just wasn't that great. Fairly inattentive.

Food was on par.
Meanwhile, I think the food quality at DiGuilio's has gone down.

Mine was straight rude and condescending to a coworker, who is the sweetest person you'd ever meet, when she asked him to check with the kitchen if one of the menu items had eggs, which she's deathly (not an exaggeration) allergic.

Use to love Giamancos on Government St. It too was first class!

I miss giamancos so much. We used to go there every Friday night before home games. Best sensation salad anywhere.

A lot memories there, retirement parties, HS homecoming dinners, birthdays, etc.

I'm from NO, rude waiters make me feel at home. Gino's is proof that the best red sauce in the city doesn't have to be overly sweet.

Sal and Sam’s competes favorably. . Marcello’s in Lafayette too but I do love Gino’s as well. The Arancini is iconic. Most young diners don’t even know what that is. Old School.

If you have a waiter that snubs you at Gino’s you can bet that they think you are clueless. Gino’s is like one restaurant in NOLA that knows a rube from a regular. A polished bon vibrant from a casino diner. Seriously. Think about it.

Usually get the arancine (one regular, one seafood/crawfish if they have it), Mama's salad w/ lump crab, and of course Laurence bread. Haven't found an entree that I really love. I really like the Veal Sorrentina and I've had some steaks that were pretty good. Almond cream cake is delectable. I also like how you can order sides of pasta for a lesser price, as opposed to having to purchase a full-size entree. Not sure if it's the best, but it's definitely top-tier. I do agree the waiters can be stuffy at times.

It’s been years and I live here. I Just prefer the lively vibe at DiGuilio Bros. Geno’s is for the olds.

I’ve never eaten anything at DiGiulio’s that I wanted to eat again. At least I’ve had a good meal at Geno’s.

Sal and Sam’s in NOLA, salad made fresh at your table! Loved that place.

My vote for #1 Italian in Louisiana is Sal & Judy's in Lacombe. Everything I've ever had there has been great.
