Would be nice to see more variety.

I'd prefer a large selection too, but if someone says "American beer is the best in the world", they are including all American beer.

So are you a big Stella Artois fan? How about Jupiler?

frick ratings, they're all biased towards the rare and extreme anyway.

doesnt change the fact that those beers are fantastic. Looking at Beeradvocate 100 Beers of Fame, which are beers that have been rated for 2+ years and have over 2000 ratings, the US produced 77 of them, with Belgium next at 11, then Germany, England and Canada at 4 each

Oh, they're definitely all fantastic, I just think they are skewed.

It would be way more relevant to me to see the 100 Accessible Beers of Fame.

No shite, the two best-selling brands in Belgium are both AB-InBev owned pale lagers.

Yep. I lived in Germany for two years and a lot of the Germans drank mass produced Pilsners that were slightly better than a BMC product. They would also order a beer with 1/2 Coke and 1/2 Beer.

You may be right but its tough to compare Europe with the US because of difference of size. The places I visited in Europe all had pretty good beer choices, but they were mainly small pubs.
