For some reason sushi. I'll still eat it, but not as enjoyable as it once was.

I fully expected this reaction about the pork belly.

Crab cakes and stuffed crab are always disappointing EXCEPT in Maryland. The crab cakes there are 99.9% jumbo lump and are excellent. Nowhere else compares.

Barbecue shrimp is always disappointing for me. Haven't found one worth the effort.

Bread, of any kind. I appreciate that it keeps the sandwich off my shirt. That's about it

Good call. I'm getting that way too. Especially buns.

+1 on the pork belly and sushi
I'm tired of sliders. Little bitty burgerish creations made mostly of bun.

If you're 'over' pho, you never 'got' pho.

Pork Belly

The problem with pork belly is very few places make it well. Good pork belly is great, bad pork belly is really, really bad.

Jambalaya!!!

Especially living in Ascension Parish. To me, it is just dirty rice with some overcooked meat in it. I like how many guys claim to make award winning jambalaya, but it still taste like all the other bland jambalayas.

If we want jambalaya, we buy "Oak Grove Smokehouse" and make it in 30 mins. Jambalaya is something we make when we don't feel like making real food.

I second sushi, and I used to love it. Ever since I read up on how much of it is low quality bullshite.

I used to love the crab cakes at Gulf Net seafood in Prarieville. Since they closed, I haven't eaten a single crab cake that wasn't a disappointment.
