I guarantee if it was rarer, or tougher to get, or made by some local brewery, it wouldn't be "over-rated"

I'd drink Pliny over every other beer I've tried.

I don't know about this LST. I consider Pliny to be a rare and hard to find. I've had a 2 day old bottled Pliny and I've had Pliny on tap at RR. It is a great beer. But there are better DIPAs out there. That is all I am saying.

Dirtwolf DIPA really impressed me... can't wait for more to hit the shelfs... I really dug it and think it can contend with most...

How's that Jolly Rodger?

I've seen it on Blackwell's mailing list the last two weeks and I really want to pull the trigger on it.

ETA: I agree with Hopslam. I'm never good at doing rankings, but Hopslam is definitely near the top if I had to come up with a list.

I'd love to. Want to send me some this Spring? Still haven't had this one, and I'm a big fan of the brewery.

FBD and SBD-Sculpin. A bit of age, but still SO good. I'm glad the recycling pickup is close. No pickup due to Thanksgiving has that bin about to overflow with cans, bottles and gallon jugs (my son drinks almost a gallon of milk a day).

I was basing it on what we can get in louisiana. Shipping plus what you have to trade for heady work against it.

Ah, gotcha. Yea, I was leaving shipping out of the equation since some people are in different areas.

Heady and Abrasive, and Double Jack may be marginally better. But Pliny is a damn good beer that I'd be thrilled to get on a regular basis.

Three Floyds Dreadnaught belongs in the convo as does Odell's Mercenary. I would put Deep Ellum Dreamcrusher in there too.

Pretty good. Reminds me a lot of Hoptagon. I probably would pick hoptagon over it though.

I enjoyed it as well. Im hoping to head to the brewery when i head home for xmas.

Ive had hopslam a few times and wasnt very impressed by it at all. Before i completely dismiss it, i wanna try a really fresh one. But at this moment, its not in my personal top teir of ipas.

My brother in law lives in St. Louis and I'm going to visit him Presidents Day. Hopslam comes out in January. If I have a chance to get any, or if he can pick some up, I'll get some for my FBD brethren in LA that haven't tried it.

How so? It's a great beer and they don't make nearly enough to meet demand. And they don't seem to have any plans for expansion.

Apparently it's over-rated as frick
Someone forgot to tell a shitload of people though

And it's hardly rare or tough to get. Email or call Blackwell's and they will sell you all you want.

I don't think anyone is saying it's overrated it is just widely considered one of if not the best beer in the world and many would disagree.

That's the very definition of over-rated, so, yeah
