What is it that makes American beer so bad? The amt of hops, the water, the science. Or do people just not like a pilsner, a beer that has been in existence since The mid 1800's. Were those folks just dumb?

The fact that they use Rice. and the fact that it just tastes bad.

This is an impossible question for me to answer, because there are different beers for different situations. Not saying that any of these are my go-to beers, but I'm perfectly happy with an Abita Amber in my hand at an April crawfish boil in Louisiana. If I'm in Chicago on a 20 degree windy winter's day, there's nothing like ducking into a pub for a pint of Guinness. When I'm in Quebec, it's a no brainer to go with la Fin du Monde on tap.

In the summer I love honey moon. Overall I go with yellow bellies, Newcastle, or bud light.

ETA: and who doesn't love some bud light lime (2 at the max)

My go to beer right now is Racer 5. If I'm at a run-o-the-mill bar they will usually have Sierra Nevada PA and I'll go for that. If its a really crappy bar I may have to resort to Shiner.

This, except sub Abita Amber for Shiner.

But Racer 5 gets me feeling good.

Correct. At least with the standards Bud, Miller, etc. It wasn't like that when I first started drinking beer years and years ago. You could open a can of Bud and smell the aroma across the room. The big companies eventually saved production costs by cheapening the ingredients and weaning the American public off of the good stuff.

I recently saw that they sell lager in cans and it has been my go to beer since then. It is great for a warm day.

Sam Adams BL has always been my go to since most places now carry it.

Love Racer 5 IPA. But, when i just wrap up mowing the grass... i have no problem grabbing a miller.

I'm ready for some good summer beers. Abita SOS and wheat, paulander hefe, or will try any other wit or wheat.

If you kick back after a long days work and are offered a bud light and say a Harp, you're a fricking joke if you choose bud light and should be laughed at. You are probably the type of person who's favorite restaraunt is Olive Garden, Chili's or Aplebees.

I never understand this. If you are drinking the stuff you listed and will drink bud and coors, what is the difference? Water beer is water beer.
