City Pork Experience (Jefferson Hwy Location)

First time posting on this board so I guess here it goes .
I have been to the CP at the overpass and love it, though I am not a huge fan of the hipster vibe, but good food is good food. So when I heard they had a second location and that it was the same owner as Leroy's had to go. (went with my gf, sorry no pics haha)
We split an order of the glazed ribs, excellent A+. Might be the best ribs I have had in BR dining wise in a long time.
I usually always get the The Big Pig (most popular menu item, pulled pork sandwich) at the overpass location but I decided to mix it up and get the Blue Cheese salad with added pulled pork (waiters rec). I am not a salad guy by any means but it was also excellent. I also added a side of baked beans.
Girlfriend also got a salad called the Jefferson greens, smoked chicken with pepperjelly, she said it was great but the chicken was little undercooked and it was still that good.
We did not try the charcuterie/cheese board but will next time.
The place was pretty busy for a sunday at 8pm, and the bar looked amazing they really did a nice job with the remodel. I personally like the atmosphere of this CP but being a college student, the overpass area as a whole you cannot beat.
Wait service, food prep time, and price for meal, were excellent.
Would recommend to anyone, plan on getting their brisket sandwich or duck dish next time.
There was a table next to us that were celebrating a gentleman's birthday, one of his gifts was a bottle of wine, and saw the waiter go out of his way to bring the table glasses, open it for them and bring dessert, personally says a lot but just me.
(Edit:Also its in the old Dempsey's building)

That building was originally a Pizza Hut then DaJoNel's and most recently Dempsey's second location. Unless something has changed, it's plagued by a lack of parking, particularly during the lunch hour.

Still plagued by lack of parking, but CP stays packed

Nice job on the review. Thanks.

Thanks for the review. This board needs more contributions like this and less dumbfrickery threads.

Cubano at Hollydale is different and better than Jefferson in my opinion. CP on Exchequer doesn't even have the Cubano on the menu for some reason, and that's the closest CP for me.

Yeah, park across at Towne Center and walk over if you're not there early.

I remember when they built the building and we would ride our bicycles to eat pizza. It was something else after Pizza Hut and before DaJaNel's but I can't remember.
I like the wings and the pastrami sandwich

It has also been Vic's Chophouse, but that was after DaJaNels.

Exchequer > Jefferson > Overpass
Go to Exchequer on a Thursday, order the chicken fried steak with mac and cheese and fries

I'll take a pass on crossing Jefferson Highway on foot.

I always have a great time at CP.
The pork debris spring rolls are amazing, and the Louisiana style charcuterie they serve is hard to find elsewhere in the city and also is really, really good.
ETA: at the overpass location they sell smoked duck breast. get it sliced thin. it is legit.

Depends on the time of day, but my wife and I do this on a semi-regular basis. It's not bad at all.

Cubano sandwich hands down best thing at Jefferson. the pickles are good as well. haven't been to the new location but I work near the Jefferson one.

Big pig had me in heaven last week. It's so rare to find good BBQ in BR
