That would be disgusting depending on the sauce.

Bread for a sandwich is more practicality than anything. It holds the ingredients together & acts as a filler.

The components of a sandwich can be eaten on a plate with a knife and fork quite easily. The moment you put it in between bread, the bread becomes a very important and integral part of the meal. I could not disagree more, just as pasta isn't pasta, rice isn't rice, and bread isn't just bread. It adds flavor, texture, and is both the first and last thing you taste when you put it in your mouth.

My problem with most waffles is they tend to be pretty dry.

I am pretty amazed at the number of people on this board have never heard of / tasted chicken and waffles. It's not the greatest thing on earth, bu it's not terrible by any means. Another Broken Egg serves it for those who were looking.

I concur...OP is a dumbass..In his defense though, he was listening to Toby Keith when he made this thread.

From reading this thread, it looks like C & W's are nothing special...I think I'll pass on them. Too many other tasty things to eat.

I'll pass. Grew up on mom's fried chicken. It didn't require a waffle to make it special. She made damn good waffles too...that required no chicken .

I hear ya, and over the years I've become a pretty damn good bread maker in my own right, and can pull off some awfully serious roast beef and jus, but sometimes I still just like to put the two together.

It's not that they're necessarily anything special

It's a good combo that some people obviously really enjoy

I've had it a few times and think they go well together

Stroube's has this as a special on one of the weekday lunch specials. Never had it, but know a few who have and say it is really good.
