re: Boudin king cake (pics & review pg 2)

When I was a vendor at festivals, I'd make boudin beignets. Just flattened two biscuits, put boudin from the Best Stop in the middle, sealed the edged, deep fried it, then sprinkled with powered sugar.

People went ape sh*t over them.

Someone sent me a link to the boudin king cake, and ever since, I've had Southern Culture on the Skids' song "Too Much Pork for Just One Fork" stuck in my head.

I heard that the boudin and cracklins were from Earl's. Have you gotten one yet? They went on sale at Twin's today. Hopefully I can make it there before they close tonight!

Yeah they changed to earls.. Maybe Billy's was too busy to keep up with demand. I have one ordered for the weekend

picked one up on the way back to Houston yesterday.

the Syrup is given to you in a steen's bottle, so you put as little or as much as you want.

Have yet to actually 'taste' the king cake, but will report back after cutting through this tonight.
