I think N.O. is a pretty good steak town.

I'm not saying the ones we have aren't good.

I consider a steaktown, a city with few good options outside of a steak house.

I hate this shite... Did you even read the man's post? He's flying in for a game, so likely staying in a hotel, and does not have access to a kitchen.
I caught that as well.

Not sure where it said that he was flying in from the metropolis of Monroe. I'm envisioning a Ford Explorer as the vehicle of means.

if you're staying downtown, hit up Desi Vega's

if you're close to uptown, Mr Johns

I just saw Miami... I rarely pay attention to the location part, as you might have guessed by my entry.

I like it ok, but it's not even in discussion for best steak in n.o.

Def. not worth sending the guy out to Metairie to hit up if he is staying downtown.

Dry aged strip (or ribeye) at Delmonico's is my favorite. I could eat two of those things.

I tried the strip at mr johns based on this board. It was good but next time I'll go with the bone-in ribeye if I'm eating there. Delmonico is probably where I had my favorite steak in New Orleans

this. If I had to choose though, I would choose Mr. John's.

Mediocre at best. I would never make a point of going to the place. Seriously.

Morton's does pretty well also. If you are staying Downtown that might be an option.

Morton's is the worst steakhouse in New Orleans. No where else can you pay so much for a shitty meal.

If you choose La Boca, know that it is very small and very popular. Make reservations as soon as possible. I had an issue when making them over 6 weeks in advance and there was nothing much going on in the city, though it was a Saturday night.

Agree. Morton's flat out sucks. I think Ruth's Chris is better than Mr. John's. Bigger steak, better cut, always cooked perfectly. Sides at Ruth's are better than those at Mr. John's as well.

Also consider Crescent City Steakhouse. Crescent City and Ruth's are the original New Orleans steakhouses.
